Anyone here have any info/news on the financial recoup of this show? I've read many online articles from at least a year ago of the show holding it's own financially and it's been strong in sales. Just wondering how much closer it's come to that $75 million.
I've seen the show (thankfully with Matthew James Thomas instead of Carney) and loved it. Had fun, no high expectations. Plain and simple fun.

The $85 million musical, which hasn’t returned one penny to its investors — including The Edge, an idiot for putting his own money in the show — is trying to hang on by casting a washed-up rock star to keep itself going through the dead months of January and February.
But consider the source....

I remember the original statements being that they would need to meet their full gross potential every week for the first five years in order to recoup. There have been very few weeks where they hit 100% gross potential, and, since this spring, many weeks where they have been running at a loss (if the reported 1.2 million per week operating cost is believed to be accurate).

I remember hearing that somehow the running costs were lowered to $1 million a week.

They haven't met that either ^.
