I am guessing the "alleged scheduling conflict" is just that she wants to get to work and can't wait for things to get going with this show. I think i would do the same thing.
I vote Haven Burton, it's about time she had a show written as her being the original star.

Haven Burton and Evan Rachel Wood don't seem like the same type to me. After seeing Burton in Shrek and Wood in Across the Universe, they also don't have the same voice type. So I don't know if that switch would really work.
Plus, we know nothing about the score; Mary Jane might not even sing, in which case they could probably find many young "names" to take over for Wood who are actresses.
Now that Disney is joining in, would it be a kick to the ass if they got someone like Demi Lovato for the role?

I know! Let's host a reality TV show that Andrew Lloyd Webber can produce looking for the next Mary Jane! That way he can have his name on not one, but two future Broadway flops!
Naw, in all seriousness, I do wish these projects the best, even though I think they're both equally bad ideas and will fail, I certainly don't want them to.
But actually, I think Allison Fischer would be ideal. She has that very innocent look, a killer voice, a little weak on the acting- but since when is Mary Jane a deep character? Allison actually seems like a very good candidate.
