There's no time if they're opening in March. And they'd have to shut down completely and re-rehearse and re-stage the whole show.

Spiderman should be retitled...BAIT N'SWITCH. Bait the public with discounters, suddenly make them unavailable leaving full priced seats. The first cancellation with great discounted seats, no problem...the second time with discounted seats disaapointing. The third time with discounted seats the cancellation was getting annoying so the forth time, the same discounted seats were unavailable, but WERE available for full price. I admit, I caved...what a dummy!
Can the new writer replace all of the songs? No? WON'T HELP!

Deadpool is all about the improv- maybe the show should be about him instead:

Posted: 2/18/11 at 8:33pmHow much further can they push back the opening and still be eligible for this year's Tony Awards?

Looks like April 28th is the cutoff this year.
I'm guessing it will be pushed back twice -- once before the deadline and then once afterwards. But I have no basis other than my sunny disposition and magical insight.

I don't think they will ever open. That is my gut reaction.

Posted: 2/19/11 at 2:04amdoes this also further the argument the budget of $65 Million is not anywhere near correct?
#15'Spiderman' Changes
Posted: 2/19/11 at 2:12amThey have to be up near 90 million at this point. If they are indeed going to put in the time/money etc for a completely new book, this thing is going to end up way over 100 million.

Posted: 2/19/11 at 5:04pmThey were well over $65 million before they postponed the first previews. The two weeks delay added another 5-6 million to the budget. I would say $90-$95 at this point is a safe bet.
