Spirited Away in Movie Theatres, is it worth seeing?

The live stage adaptation of the Studio Ghibli film Spirited Away will screen in US cinemas this October as part of Ghibli Fest. The production will be shown in its original Japanese language with English subtitles for two nights only on October 1 and 8.

Has anyone seen it? Any good?

I've seen both filmed versions on HBO Max and personally wouldn't go to the movie theater to see it again. It's a solid adaptation with some cool stagecraft, but the original film is such a masterpiece artistically that I didn't think the stage adaptation added much.

I think that the movie is an artistic masterpiece. But, maybe that’s just me. But, while it is a fantastic movie you don’t need to see it in theatres if you don’t want to. HBO Max has pretty much all of theStudio Ghibli Catalog including spirited away. And, for all the films they have two options original Japanese with subtitles or dubbed in English. Personally, I’d rather watch the films in their original language rather than dubbed in English. But, then again, I love a lot of international movies and those are always screened with subtitles rather than being dubbed. I guess what I am trying to say is that I can’t recommend this movie enough. I know people who aren’t a fan of animated films. Yet, they saw it and came back singing its praises."
