I have never seen the show... And I also know nothing about it! However, I am a season ticked holder to all the shows that come to Houston, TX. I have tickets to Spring Awakening tomorrow night in Houston. Is the show good? And how is the tour cast? I have watched the video on Broadwayworld and think its going to be ok... I want to know your thoughts on the show?
PS I will give my review of the show either tomorrow night or the next day!
Gosh, have people posted about Spring Awakening on this board before? I can't recall.

You're going to see the show anyway, right? Don't read anyone else's opinions. Go see it with an open mind, no preconceived notions, and then come back and tell us what you thought of the show. You'll probably like it better that way.

Well it really depends on what your personal taste is.
It's basically about horny teens (one of which doesn't know what to do with his boner, while a couple of others seem all to well what to do, especially for 1800's provencial Germany).
That's Spring Awakening for ya. There are people who love it, and people who hate it. The tour cast is pretty decent though, they're a lively bunch, which is kind of important in this show.
Have a great night either way!
"Don't be afraid of the nudity!"
Yes! Don't be afraid of the nudity! Be afraid of the terrible material and the weak performances that you paid $120 to see!!!
(even at a discount, you're still overpaying for this teeny bopper vomit-fest.)
I saw it three times but wouldn't pay more than $50 (which was the top price I paid).
There isn't even that much nudity. One buttcheek and one boob.
actually both buttcheeks and a boob if we're gonna get specific
Word. I saw the whole a$s from where I was sitting.
Can't speak for the tour, but Parrish and Socha get a LITTLE bit more into it than I'd previously seen. I saw some major licking and sucking going on.

I have heard the show is hard to follow... Is that the case?
Maybe for you.
If you can follow a storyline, it's not hard to follow. The lyrics can be quite flowery, but the general message of those songs is never lost. The story, however, is completely linear and if you can't follow it... I don't know. It's just not hard to follow.
Anyway, you should really go in with an open mind. This board is the wrong place to ask how it is. The majority dislike it. I'm not saying that because I disagree with them (I do, in fact, disagree as I have seen it 12 times), but because you'll get a mostly one-sided argument. The same reason I would advise you not to ask around the Fan Club boards. Go in expecting nothing in particular and you'll be able to make a much more personal opinion.
As for the tour cast, I've heard they're great and very energetic which, as a previous poster said, is absolutely vital for this show.
Have a great time!

You can also go to the Parents Guide for more information.
I listened to the CD first before seeing the show, and found that was helpful for me. It's not an awful show. I found it interesting. But as someone mentioned, you either love it or hate it.

I didn't love it or hate it! I liked it!
The tour cast is very good. I saw them in LA and the audience really seemed to enjoy themselves. At least, I know I did. There were a few specific acting choices that I could have done without (mostly in the movement of some characters) but the cast and band sounded great and were very focused and energetic. The lighting is also gorgeous.
I would agree with others about going in with an open mind. Some things might be uncomfortable, but its all staged very well and the show covers various thought-provoking topics.
Hope you enjoy yourself!
