I keep hearing about how the tickets for closing night might be sold like Groff's last night's tickets were. Could anyone explain to me what happen on Groff's last night??

I checked at the box office last week and they said they still don't know if there will even be rush for closing night. Best Advice I can give u is to keep checking back bc they held the entire center orc back and I'm assuming they will release em as soon as they know how many they need.
Also if u really want to go I've seen tickets on ebay for $650 each and one on Stubhub for $350 my friend is selling her's think for $200ish.

and as of now they haven't released the steage seats for the final show. they might save em for V.I.P's or save em for rush

Coolkid, you are always asking these questions why do you ask if you know the answer?

		     			oh, thank you so much!!

just so you know i called the box office earlier and no response

and i would be on top of those tickets if i actually had the $200-$600 :p

If people are actually going to pay that much for your tickets, coolkid, they need a swift kick to the head.
While they are "sold out" for the final show....it is likely that more tix could/would be released as they find out how many "invited" audience members actually need the tix.

As for the stage seats, it is widely assumed that they are being given to OBC and to the families of the actors and such. IF there are any available they will probably be released. But no telling when or how many. I'm guessing very few, if any at all.

I haven't heard of the stage seats being given to original cast members. That would be a really poor choice, in my humble opinion. They wouldn't be expected to behave any more professionally as stage-seated audience members than they did as working cast members & audience members would be very distracted by their schoolboy behavior.

I think they'll give rush seats for that day. The producers know how attached the fan base is to the show, and I don't think they'd just shut out a couple of dozen teenagers w/ money.

It's the last show...who cares about anyone's behavior. I was told that much of the obc was expected and would (possibly) be onstage for the final purple summer....how much easier would it be if they were already ON STAGE? But even if they are just giving the to the current cast (like they did for Groff's last day) that wouldnt leave many (any?) for rush.

I don't think ANYONE is going to be on their best behavior, frankly.

Yes, dramamama, but that doesn't make it CORRECT. I have worked at many "final performances" (for both shows & actors) & they are almost uniformly AWFUL for the paying audience.

There ARE paying audience members at final performances & they have a right to see a professional show, not an insiders' party. Not everyone knows when a show is closing or cares. They could just be interested in seeing a show & found tickets for a specific date. Everyone desrves to see the REAL show, as written & directed. If the production wishes to make it an emotional purge or a party then they should not sell tickets to the general public.

I agree with dramamama, Im not expecting the best behavior. Im ready to experience it, though. I have never been to a closing night before.
Oh, I totally agree with you....but that doesn't mean what I said isn't going to happen. I just don't think the PRODUCERS are really going to care about closing night shenanigans.

I was there for Groff's last and while it was fun for me (as a fan of Groff's) I certainly kept thinking about all the folks there for the first time, wondering what the heck they were missing!

You would have to pay me a lot of money to sit through the closing night audiences for 13 or Spring Awakening.
A friend of mine got the tix....otherwise I don't think I'd be going. It'll either be fun or I'll leave with an attitude in need of a stiff drink!
I think it will be fun AND I will be in need of a stiff drink!
I'm not saying this is really on the same level (seeing as the difference between adults and teenagers is obviously drastic for the most part), but the cast of [tos] were at the top of their game on closing night and held it together exceptionally well considering the audience was going insane. I suspect the cast of SA will probably do the same considering how well they were able to compose themselves on the day the closing was announced (I was there first row that night and they were WRECKS at stage door). I think they'll be giving the show every last ounce of energy they have. They're very dedicated cast members and I highly doubt they'll be messing with closing night.

Oh...I wasn't worried about the CAST. But the audience will be insane. And I think another poster was alluding to members of the original cast acting up if they were in the stage seats.
Well the original cast acted the way they did, I think, because they were restless. Gerard used to fidget a lot in his chair when he was in the ensemble, but I've never seen him do it as Moritz, for example. I think they'll be pretty well behaved. However, I think the audience is going to be insane as well. But I think they'll be respectful of what's going on. I'm only using another [tos] example because it's the only closing night I've ever been to, but the audience was nuts and then a song or dialogue would start and it would be silent. I predict the same kind of behavior. I'll probably be proven totally wrong.

Regardless, I would kill to be at closing night. I'll settle for final matinee that day though.

I'm going and I am already annoyed at the prospect of hearing legions of teenage girls weeping loudly for the duration of the show. It makes me think of when I went to Kristin's last Wicked and the girl sitting next to me seriously, did not stop sobbing the whole way through the show. I can understand being emotional...I myself may be emotional....but the melodrama is so....melodramatic. hahaha
^I feel the same way. Groff's last was like a rock concert...I hope the atmosphere at closing is the same.

AND Gerard 'cleaned up' his act quite a while before he took over as Moritz.

haha. thats wut i heard about Groff's last night! eeek...I feel like "last nights" are most appreciated....on youtube. When you don't have to feel the horrible brunt of pubescent AND drunken shrieks. haha
