This is a cool song. Interesting style too....punk rock goes Broadway. Good marketing since the style of music is quite popular now. I'll definitely get the CD when it comes out on Dec. 5th.

musicaltheater1, thank you SO much for the link!
I'm surprised it's up already. They added the ACL new Broadway cast recording like two days before it was released.

Ugh, this is the only show that I HAVE TO SEE when I come to NYC. I love new musicals like this that really speak to young people. I don't think many of the normal Broadway followers will find it as appealing, but I love the unqiueness of the staging, the song, and the choreography. I hope it doesn't get swept under the rug come Tony time. I think this show will def. create a following.
I'm not that young but, this play definitely appeals to me. Always enjoyed punk rock.
This just made me sooo excited. A friend of mine was cast as a swing in this show. I really can't wait to see it!!

Question. Is it all sung-through? Or is it like "book" and then a "song" then "book" then "song." I thought I read somewhere that the songs aren't really incorporated into the story, but more like commentary? I dunno.
Rentboy, I saw it at the Atlantic and the songs work like internal monologues expressing what the characters are thinking and feeling. The show is not sung through like others are yet the music is incorporated into the story.

So would you say it's setup like a standard book musical?
there's quite a bit of dialogue in the show. So, yes in answer to your question.
So I've definitely watched the video like 20 times now. Wow. this is gonna be good :)

Saw the show back in June, planning a trip to hopefully see opening night on B'way. This video was such a treat after a hard week at work.
This show is phenomenal: unconventional and intelligent. Duncan Sheik's presence on Broadway is warmly welcomed by me. Make this show a colossal hit so he's convinced to write for the stage more. Give him and Steven the Tony now. Don't really care who else is out there.
Get your tickets *NOW* -- the reviews were glowing at the Atlantic and will likely be raves by the time it gets to the O'neill.

I hope it's still there in April

*interject* I would love to see this more widely issued. promoting this show using a music video is pure genious i think.
Why did I not line up and get standing room tickets with a friend the day it closed prebroadway. It's very punk pop though...

I like the song but I think I might like "Don't Do Saddness" more, the sound is a bit more edgy and of course "Totally F@#&ed" is just plain fun.
I really really really really want to see this, but I doubt I'm going to get to. My dad is the one who normally takes me to see shows and this isn't something that would apeal to him, and it's not really something I'd want to see with my dad.
Yeah, I was thinking about that, too. For those of you who have actually seen it live, how uncomfortable would it be to see with a family member? I usually go with my sister. How...'intense' is it really?

Unless they change it a lot...it was pretty intense at the Atlantic. The first act ended with a girl completely topless.... Depends how comfortable you are with your family...
Check out the cast pictures.
