I'm sure you've seen enough posts on here indicating that you aren't the only one.
A work of art is an invitation to love.

Hey, it's a slow night.
All criticism welcome. All points of view welcome.
At least I didn't say that it deserves to close immediately, it's the worst piece of dreck ever, etc, etc, etc.

What exactly are you saying then? Let’s talk trash about SA, I'm bored. That's Juvenile.

I personally couldn't care less if you liked SA or not, but how immature can you be?

Do you have to post a whole topic on how you didn't like a show? That's basically a let's talk crap about Spring Awakening thread.

It's just like the Legally Blonde hate thread!

Yankee, I'll help you out.
Folks, it was shallow. It was outlandish. People jerking off (pardon the bluntness) onstage. Haven't we moved forward from Hair? I'm not saying a show about sex is a bad idea, but it would have been a lot more clever had it played out like a softcore porn. The performances weren't all that memorable. The staging was fairly original, but this is from the man who directed the blando Thorougly Moddern Millie. The music was a little better than Rent's, but it didn't hold a candle to Guettel or Frankel or LaChuisa. Grey Gardens was superior in every single way.

There are so many "love" threads on this board. This is for people who didn't love the show. It doesn't have to trash the show - in fact, I don't encourage it. But if everyone who loved the show has a thread, why shouldn't everyone who didn't love it?
I'm personally rooting it on - it deserves to succeed.
If you don't agree with my post, I apologize. I really do. If you don't like it, don't post on it - let it die peacefully (the thread, not the show).

Yeah and why can't there be a hate thread if there is a love thread and it's not like this is the only show with a hate thread..

jv92 - I completely disagree with you, actually. The show wasn't shallow - they dared to go "there." In this day and age, going "there" in nearly every medium gets people up in arms and ultimately ends up stifling creativity. For them to put up what they did, I give them the world of credit. Duncan, Steven, Michael, and the producers should be commended for putting it up in a market where almost only familiar properties sell.
It was a beautiful show. I loved the music. I loved the staging. I LOVED the music. I just didn't think that it all added up to a memorable evening.
FutureAladdin - Notice how I never used the word "hate."

Sorry but, I feel the need to say "duh." Of course its not like Guettel, its rock music. Yankee I have no problem whatsoever if you didn't like Spring Awakening but I don't think we needed another thread on why people didn't like the show.

Also everytime someone says something like they didn't like SA, suddenly it's like a Nazi reinforcement comes in and attacks you just because you said you didn't like it..

Oh well. I thought it was a complete failure.

I think the point of this thread is stupid! Why would you start something that you know people will hate and fight with you about it. You must be a George W. Bush fan.

Renthead333-
Please don't call me a Republican. (That's certainly not true) I just didn't like the show.

Renthead333...So it's ok to create threads to express love for a show, yet you can't have a thread expressing that you didn't like it?
