Posted: 8/31/08 at 8:30pmThere aren't really any parts for baritones in the show, so I would suggest singing as a high a song as you can that still sounds comfortable in your range.

I auditoned at the NY open call back in April and they are looking for rockish songs or folky. I sang 'I Don't Wanna Be' by Gavin Degraw and I know a lot of people brought their own instruments and such and were able to play original material. My friend sang 'Chariot' by Gavin Degraw and a I know I was told by someone they are sick of Beatles songs, so I don't know.
I'd say try a few different songs before picking your final. I know I went through a ton of options before landing on what I chose. Best of luck to you! It's a great experience!

They have the Beatles catalouge as a back up or something.
I don't know, I've heard conflicting reports.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
