I am positive that this has been posted before (because I've seen it), but I can't find it on the search feature...when are they finding a replacement for Groff + Michelle?

Kyle Riabko and Alexandra Socha are the replacements. Kyle will leave in August to go on tour as Melchior, and I've heard Hunter Parrish will replace him but that is a rumor at this point, I think.

Looks like E! Online is about a month or three behind BWW...


Hunter Parrish, who plays Mary-Louise Parker's son on the hit marijuana Showtime series, is joining the cast of the angst-ridden rock 'n' roll Broadway musical Spring Awakening sources exclusively reveal.

The show, based on an 1891 German play of the same name, centers around a group of teenagers dealing with abortion, rape, suicide, masturbation and even some S&M. It won three Tony Awards last year, including Best Musical.

Parrish, 21, will star as Melchoir, whose best friend kills himself and whose pregnant girlfriend dies after an illegal abortion. (Parrish may want to start poppin' some antidepressants now.) He'll make his debut in September.

The original Melchoir, Jonathan Groff, was nominated for Tony for his work in the show.

A rep for the musical said today that "it's been in discussion for while," but he hasn't been told that a final deal with Parrish has been signed.

However, I'm told that Parrish will hightail it to New York after Weeds wraps for the season later this month to spend August rehearsing for Spring Awakening.

Oh my god! I saw him on Chelsea Lately last night, and Chelsea asked " So I hear you might be doing something on broadway." and Hunter said " Yeah, were in talks right now, so come check me out." So SA was the show he was talking about. He looks the part, but I hope he can sing.

Don't the editors of these rumor rags bother to do a fact check? SA won 8 Tony awards, not three...Honestly, this guy's as bad as Riedel...

If this is true, I'm excited...
