It is very hard to keep up (unless one reads every thread every day) so please be kind.
I was able to get good seats at normal (not premier/premium) prices to Young Frankenstein so I am planning a trip to NYC March 19-23.
New shows that I know about are Little Mermaid, Sunday in the Park with George, South Pacific.
Any word on when Cry Baby is supposed to open?
I believe that I will miss A Catered Affair by a few days.
I know In the Heights got good reviews but not sure if I want to see that.
No Guys and Dolls, right?
Anthing else I am missing?
Thanks!

Well, Since you are going in the Spring, Why not see SPRING awakening, that is If it reopens after the strike. It's a great show with great music it has an amazing young cast.
I have seen most if not all the currently running musicals except for Grease and Les Miz.
I wanted to know about the new ones then fill in spare day with repeat visits!
I enjoyed (in August) Spring Awakening by the way. First Row Center seats!

If you enjoyed Spring Awakening, do see In The Heights. I saw it twice Off-B'way, it was just terrific then, and will be even better for B'way.
OK, I will consider adding "In the Heights" to the list of shows.
So far I have tickets to "Young Frankenstein" and "Sunday in the Park with George".

Cry Baby does not have any official opening date. Playbill had a story a couple of weeks/months back that mentioned they would try for a March 1st opening. Guys and Dolls has been delayed, the producers used a lame excuse about the upcoming strike being an issue (writers strike, not union one) so not sure how that would have been an issue. If anything, you'd figure stars would have been more willing to take the time to be on Broadway since the writers strike could go on quite awhile. A Catered Affair begins previews 3/25, you didn't list your travel dates.
I suppose I should add "Gypsy" to my list of shows to see?
I missed the last revival.

IN THE HEIGHTS is a must!

Just adding my vote for IN THE HEIGHTS.
Based on everyone's input I purchased "In the Heights" tickets but still have 2 slots available and 3 shows I am interested in: Little Mermaid, Cry Baby and Gypsy.

Steve,
Have you seen Xanadu yet? It's really a joy. But I can appreciate your wanting to see new stuff.
You seem to just have musicals listed. If you want to see a play, "August: Osage County", in my opinion, is a must see. I am planning to fly back to NYC to see it again. (Along with other shows). Passing Strange is also on my list as is the 39 Steps. All new shows.
I would add a play or two to that list---The Seafarer or The Homecoming are a couple that are on my list.

Little Mermaid and Gypsy! TLM was really good despite of what a few people are saying, and Gypsy is going to be great!
Hey, Steve! Tow more open slots? Definitely see THE LITTLE MERMAID and GYPSY.
Steve- what wrong with you? .... GYPSY..hello !! like what I said in the other.. you are not REALLY a certifiable theater queen...w/o Gypsy ! (just kiddin')
I'd probably go with ... A CATERED AFFAIR or CRY BABY or PASSING STRANGE perhaps....THE LITTLE MERMAID is a little like "for kids"... I dont know I have not seen the show yet.. I will see it this weekend...but IF I dont live like 200 miles away from NYC ...I guess.. I'll skip it! Who knows... I might like it.. so I should not be saying that?
How about a PLAY?
Ed- Steve already saw Xanadu last Summer.

jaystarr...Saw Mermaid in Denver. I think adults will like it. I took a group of 25 adults and they all enjoyed it. I did too.
