As far as I can tell the Circle in the Square, St. James, Neil Simon, Hilton and Longacre are all without an upcoming tenant. Has anyone heard anything about what may be going into these theaters in the near future?
I know of the Neil Simon repertory production that might be coming in the fall, as well as the rumored transfer of Desire Under the Elms, but nothing concrete has been announced.

All in good time, my friend.
Right now, it's not in the cards.

There was a rumor that Dirty Dancing is going into the Neil Simon
I know the Goodman is doing Desire Under The Elms. I am hoping to go and see it soon. But I hadn't heard anything about a possible Broadway transfer, especially since it just opened up yesterday. But, if it does transfer that would be really cool.

It's M-I-double N
Then E-double L-I
You double up the N
That N, not NU
Just had to! :)
I totally forgot about the Hilton, I'll add it to my original post. Spiderman is the rumored show for that theater.

What about Damn Yankees going into the St. James or Addams Family going into the Shubert or Niel Simon?
How fun would it be if Desire Under The Elms went into the Eugene O'Neill?
Well, that wouldn't be much fun for 33 Variations, which has the O'Neill. One rumor is that Speed-the-Plow may recast and move to the Longacre. If that doesn't happen, Desire Under the Elms may go there. If it does, Desire Under the Elms may go to the Cort after Will Ferrell's show ends. And 1-2 other shows are waiting for the Longacre, depending upon what happens with Speed-the-Plow and Desire Under the Elms.

I hope the Tonys will got back into a broadway house. Since so many are dark and might not be booked.
I'm not sure how many theatres need to be booked until this perception that there are a lot of empty theatres will subside. Almost every theatre is booked for spring.
And I'm not sure the Tonys will return to a Broadway theatre. Radio City has a lot of virtues - it's large, and can accomodate a lot of sets, big casts, cameras and equipment in a way no Broadway theatre can. Due to its long side street frontage, it works great for red carpet arrivals. It lends the Tonys a national prestige, instead of the little theatre community, celebrating themselves in a less spectacular Broadway house. And Tony Awards Productions makes a lot of money selling some of Radio City's 5,000 seats to the general public.
In addition to all of Smaxie's great points, methinks that the Tonys are booked in Radio City far more than six months in advance.
The League makes a TON of money off filling the crappy seats at Radio City for hundreds of dollars a piece to even consider ever putting the ceremony back in a Broadway house, where it belongs.
Smaxie I hope the rumors about Speed-the-Plow are true. I bet if the current cast with Macy gets re-reviewed by the papers the sales would get a great boost. They'd probably just have to recast Karen with Moss having to go back to Mad Men. I have no idea what Macy's film commitments are though and I'd bet that Raul would like to stay on to boost his Tony chances so he doesn't get lost in the shuffle after the show closes. Do you think it's possible that Exit the King would opt for the Longacre instead of forcing a transfer? Tickets haven't gone on sale yet. I guess the balcony in that theater makes it a bit less desirable, but that didn't stop Boeing-Boeing from turning a profit.
No, Exit the King would be foolish to move to the Longacre if they have the Barrymore. Thankfully, the Longacre is a vastly improved theatre now, but it still has that second balcony. The Barrymore has just about the same amount of seats as the Longacre and a single balcony. The Barrymore also has a particularly spacious star dressing room.

I was under the impression that Speed The Plow lost money in ticket sales when Piven left. That there were people who wanted to and were able to return their tickets and get a refund because Piven was above the title. And, I am also under the impression that when this happened people were wondering if the show would be able to even last the rest of its run due to all the money it lost when Piven left. With all that being said how can the show afford to move theatres and continue its run?
>I was under the impression that Speed The Plow lost money in ticket sales when Piven left.<
They lost ticket sales. But I doubt the show lost money. It has still been bringing in over $300,000 a week, which should cover most costs of running a three character play. It just hasn't been bringing in the numbers it did when Piven was there.
If they have a star lined up for one of the roles of Piven's box office value, the cost of the move could be paid off with a couple of good weeks at the box office and the show could then start returning a significant profit to its investors, instead of a mere recoupment.
