re: Ssssssssssssh! Spring Dozing Off

Joshy I've sent you a message.
The audience have gone wild every time I've seen it, and the usher next to me was saying that the word of mouth was spreading like wildfire, and that the reaction was astounding. The only reason i said about the top two being closed is because I think it really deserves to be busier than that, it's an amazing show! The two levels that were open were completely full and lept to the their feet at the end. I love it and want to go back!

I think Spring will really take off in the Summer when all the teens have broken up from school for a long break, although I wouldn't put money on the show still being there this time next year.

Wish it transfered somewhere bit smaller.

Will the teens who havnt seen it get to know about it and go?
Wouldnt they have gone this holiday?

Its good enough to stay awhile - even if not entirely my cuppa.

re: Ssssssssssssh! Spring Dozing Off

Spring is hardly in one of the larger West End theatres, although it does have the horrible 4th level (I think the show would be awful to watch from up there).

Novello hasn't had a hit musical in awhile. First Drowsy, then DSS, now Spring seems to be falling behind.

Mark, on press night I was second to back row right up the top! It was actually ok, and no-one's head got in the way haha. =)

re: Ssssssssssssh! Spring Dozing Off

was chatting to a friend yesterday in town ...the advance for Spring is £50,000 - nothing really...

I really don't think Spring Awakening will make the summer...

The pricing hasnt helped encourage older people to take a chance on it. Great prices if your under 20, but no preview discounts. Only now atre the 1/2 price offers coming through

Also in New York it won the Tony, which always boosts a show for a while. But once that died down the shows box office quickly dropped. Spring Awakening has a LONG wait for any awards in this country.

Shame as I loved it in New York. I guess its low running costs will help it survive for a while

I know it's awful, but it needs to go on telly... look at the effect TV promotion has had on Priscilla's slow start. The problem there is that the big numbers aren't exactly primetime TV friendly. Can you imagine them doing Totally F*cked on Alan Titchmarsh? Good Lord! How did they promote it on Broadway?

re: Ssssssssssssh! Spring Dozing Off

There are loads of videos of them doing TV in America, they did stuff like "Touch Me", or on one they changed the lyrics to "There's a moment you know....you're stuck", cringe worthy haha.

The could easily do mama who bore me and or reprise for the girls and all that;s known for the boys.

Or purple summer. Plenty to pick. I so hope this show stays open, I think its so exciting and new!
