frenchwoods, long lake, stagedoor manor...pfff.

it's ALL about the BROADWAY THEATRE PROJECT, run by Ann Reinking! It has soooo many amazing guest artists and alumni, and it is an all round awesome experience. It is by audition only, so the talent there is also astonishing.

I went to Stagedoor for two summers (one session each time). The first year I was in the chorus of "42nd Street" (even though I can't dance at ALL), and then I was Ernst to Natalie Portman's Sally in "Cabaret" (this was of course before she became famous). This was what, over eight years ago now? It was fun. I highly recommend it.

OK So I want to put my input in...I did last night too on the I'm so jealous topic thread. I went summer of 2001 3rd session when I was kinda in the start of my love for broadway. It might just have been my talent level of the fact that I had this terrible cough the whole time I was there, or just didn't get along with my roomates, or only went one summer, but I really just didn't feel I was able to get the full experience that I saw so many other people get.

I was in State Fair and at least like got into this little barbershop quartet thingie (with female farmers too) but I could tell that the people in our show were not the best performers at the camp. All the greats were put into 42nd Street and Merrily (which I always saw performing across the pool and caught the last few minutes of their performances after our performances and now TOTALLY love!)

Anyone got any thing to say about that from the other perspective? Like the 5-8 yearers seeing newbies not getting the big chances?

Speaking of Stagedoor and CAMP...did anyone else think CAMP was a terrible, terrible, tragic movie?

Tragic? No!

It was not the best movie. But the musical numbers were very enjoyable, and a few moments had wit.

Especially, PARAPHRASING:

Girl: I guess

You probably don't remember me, we were in night mother together
