Just a word to folks who get standing room, just to throw it out there. The reason you could buy a standing room ticket is more than likely because every seat was sold, and the reason you did agree to stand for over 2 hours is because you probably really want to get into a show. So be happy with your standing room. Don't act like you didn't know what STANDING room meant, don't argue with the ushers to stand somewhere else, and don't be upset when you are pulled from a seat. You didn't pay for it, but you did pay for a little number on a wall. Enjoy that space.. it's all your own for that performance. If you can't deal with it, spend the money on a seat.
Just had to say it after watching some appalling behavior.

Do u care to Elaborate on what the particular innocent was?
You wouldn't believe the number of people at the theater where I work that try to pull the, "I didn't know it literally meant I had to stand the whole time!" line on the Front of House staff.
I so agree. Last weekend at West Side Story the woman next to me was talking very loudly and complaining about standing. It is not like they didn't know they were going to stand the whole time. She spent the whole time moping and was going back and forth sitting on the floor, and wasn't even watching the show. I was going to tell her to shut the f**k up but she she was about 55 years old, about 600 pounds, and had cigar breath, so I dealt through it.

I've done standing room several times and some of the people are just so rude. One shady guy next to me (who got to the box office 10 mins before the tickets were handed out) paid someone in the front of the line to get him a ticket, and then when he realized there were no empty seats, he said "well this is bull sh*t".
I did standing room for West Side Story and got to sit down... I sat on the floor against the wall because I was bored out of my mind
CS you just dealth through that? uhhh...NO. i'd straight up tell her to stop. i would never let anyone ruin my theater going experience regardless of paying premium price or SRO price.
the only time i sit down when i have SRO is when i see a few seats empty and at the beginning of intermission i ask an usher if it would be ok.

When I do SRO if there are open seats at the start of the second act I'll take them.
I was kind of scared because her husband was with her too.
