Ok, fun idea for a casting thread.

Who are your favorite Broadway actors/actresses and what role are you dying to see them headline in amajor revival?

They don't even have to be your favorites, just as long as you can really see them in a certain role.

For me:

Christine Ebersole in "Mame"
Leslie Kritzer in "Funny Girl"
Christopher Fitzgerald in "How to Succeed..."
Sutton Foster in "Me and My Girl"
Laura Bell Bundy in "Once Upon a Mattress"
this one's a bit out there, but Megan Mullaly in "Anything Goes"
Laura Benanti in "My Fair Lady"
Mara Davi in "Crazy for You"

catch me? doesn't have to be women, i'm justa diva fan.

I really would like to see Patrick Wilson as John Proctor in 'The Crucible'.

Dearest, how can this be so? You were dead, you know. - Candide

Oh my god, this show has everything! Half naked guys and girl on girl action! - [title of show]

(My avatar? Why, yes! That is Laura Benanti making out with a chick!)

That's all I have for now.

I would have loved to see Patti LuPone as Desiree in A Little Night Music, but I think she's too old now. maybe in a few years as Madame Armfeldt.

Beth Leavel in Hello, Dolly! or Mame, perhaps.
I second the idea of Laura Benanti in My Fair Lady.
David Hyde Pierce in The Music Man. and even though I'm not a huge fan, I'd like to see Kelli O'Hara as Marian.
can I say Donna Murphy and Vicki Clark in Follies? it's been done and I saw it...but it really needs to be mounted for Broadway.

Patti LuPone in PALIN!: the Musical Spectacular

What? It has been said that she has great success playing unlikeable characters.
