Seriously, what is your deal with her sazzy? You post that she looks old in the Dodgers game photo and now you're trying to teach HER how to sing? Ummm, can I ask what you sound like?

Hi my buddy Popular! Let me just say that Stephanie is TOTALLY BRILLIANT and I can't wait until she is back here in Toronto or NYC and er, 'thanks' to that 'poor soul' for their input - they are obviously blind AND deaf.
purrrrrfect is right.
It's not illegal for sazzy to critique Stephanie's performance as they see it. However, what Stephanie does obviously works, so there's really nothing to change.
True, sazzy has the right to an opinion...
let's just leave it at that. Another thread of theirs lead me to beleive that the comment wasn't really meant to be constructive criticism (which I have no problem with).
I saw Stephanie in Toronto and she really didn't do anything for me. I thought some of her choices were ok (Defying Gravity) but with all due respect I have never heard a funnier version of No Good Deed than Stephanie's. Even now, listening to her version I think she totally oversings the song.
Her Elphaba was very cartoon figure like for me... suddenly singing in a witch voice ('I'm wicked through and through'), then suddenly shouting... she was not very easy to listen to.
I'm not saying she doesn't have a great voice, but most of her choices how to perform a song didn't work for me at all.

If it was always Stephanie,Why did Idina say she had been working on WICKED for 3 years when she won her TONY?

I don't think Stephanie is not over dramatic at all in her acting. I loved her acting. I also do not think she still has some Liza in her. To me at least her singing sounds completely different in Boy from Oz than it does in Wicked
good question yarn....maybe because she stole the role and pretended she didn't...lol totally j/k!
I love Stephanie J. Block. I have yet to see someone better.
I've seen Stephie twice in LA, and the first time, I really didn't like her Defying Gravity. If you've seen her, you know she puts that Margaret Hamilton sneer into her voice in Act 2, which is brilliant. But when I saw her, her voice changed a lot from Steph to Margaret to Liza, and I really didn't like it. I saw her again a week later, and it was all gone and she rocked so hard that night. I think it's just something that happens from time to time.
she's been consistently amazing each time I've seen her
