She doesn't say she's a dancer but she's actually a damn good dancer! She did a lot of it in Boy From Oz, and I was in awe! I think she'd make a great Cassie as I think she could act the hell out of that part! I totally think she could do the dancing too!

Posted: 2/24/07 at 10:23pmYes but Sutton LOOKS very young. Bebe may have been young but she has a certain maturity to her. She looks older. I think Stephanie has that maturity to her look and could pull off the role even though she and Sutton are fairly close in age (I believe!)

Also dont forget that Ms. Block was in the wicked ensemble, which she could not do if she could not dance.

I don't think anyone was comparing. I think Horton was mearly pointing out the fact that Stephanie HAS danced in a show before. Wicked and BFO.

Stephanie is a great dancer. She danced a lot in Boy From Oz. I am sure she would kill Cassie's music too. I'd love to hear it. I personally think she would make a great Scarlet in this new Gone With The Wind that's being talked about. But for now let's hope she stays too busy with The Pirate Queen!

Posted: 2/25/07 at 1:15amI can't believe this thread. I think Stephanie J. Block is a very promising Broadway actress/singer, but we are talking about Cassie here. You really have to be a trained dancer to do this, not just danced a little here and there. Also, since they are keeping the original choreography, the way Donna McKechnie did it, the dance only excels if you have someone who is very fluid and can really sustain energy for the faced paced song. I mean McKechnie and great middle body movements. How about Ruthie Henshall? She actually started as a dancer.

Oh come on! That choreography the scary Wizamania dancers do is more difficult that Cassie's dancing. The Wizamnaia dancing head people are the hardest working dancers on Broadway.
