I can't believe people on this board are saying Wicked has harder choreography that A Chorus Line. What versions have you seen? Damn, I feel old.

Stephanie J. Block is a HUGE talent, and I am a BIG fan (especially after seeing her in the Chicago production of Pirate Queen). But this would seem like highly inappropriate casting. Who knows though? Maybe she'd be great. Hard to see that one though.

I don't think it's even a matter of which choreography is more "difficult" (A Chorus Line or Wicked). The styles and techniques are very different. Being proficient in one does not necessarily make you great at the other. Besides, as I said earlier, Stephanie did not necessarily have to dance that much in Wicked there is a chorus of amazing dancers, cast from the strenuous dance call.
Nothing against her, great talented girl, but come on, Donna McKechnie, Ann Reinking, Wanda Ritcher, Charlotte D'Amboisse...and Stephanie J. Block???
So I don't think I could see Steph in this role, but I just wanted to comment on the sentence above. Charlotte D'Amboise is not NEARLY as talented a dancer as either McKechnie OR Reinking. The fact that you think to group them together...well let's just say I MUCH disagree.
I think Charlotte D'Amboise is a great dancer, maybe not on the same level as McKechnie or Reinking, but not too far off (and she has proven since 1989, during Jerome Robbins Broadway, that she is an excellent dancer). Saying that she is not as good of a Cassie as either of them is a different statement, one that I think many will agree with.
