Below is the latest from her website. I believe the auction starts April 1st so check it out and register to bid if you're interested. It's for a great cause and there are some really cool things she's auctioning away. All of it was her personal stuff from the tour and autographed.
Hey all!
I have a few personal WICKED momentos that I am auctioning off for charity. As most of you know, The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (www.jdrf.org) is very close to my heart. ALL proceeds will be sent there in memory of Andy Smithey. Thanks so much for you interest and being a part of this worthwhile and FUN auction. Letting the bidding begin!

WHat did she use the knee pads for?
Btw, I dont know why but I always forget to tell you, I love you avater! It is so cute!
The description only says that she wore them during the entire show. Elphaba is more of a physically demanding role than some might guess... according to things I've either heard or read there is a lot of kneeling up and down with Nessa and so on. You'd have to ask Stephanie yourself for a more complete answer. That's just my best guess.
And thanks, I love that picture too!

I know both her and Fiyero do kneel during the 'As Long As Your Mine" number. Possible for that.

I guess that would be it. I thought about the "ALAYM" thing and it would probably make it a lot easier.
I love Stephanie as much as anyone else, but come on! Used makeup? Sponges? Get real.

Who wants a hand towel with makeup on it?
iwearshoes and Katt - I totally understand what you're saying!
I, for one, don't see myself actually finding "use" for most of those things. But she knows people will probably bid on anything so it's of better use to the charity for the items to be on that list than in the trash. I would hope that people bid on these just to have as a keepsake and donate to a good cause.

It would be a really unique momento. Plus it goes to charity like popular said it is making money for a good cause instead of going in the trash.

That's true. I mean, I guess I'm just suprised people would bid on it! But it was nice of her to do it anyway.
I don't want to seem like the hater in this area but she is selling crap. I would rather just give the charity a check then put the effort into buying crap with someone's name written on it.

hey, i like stephanie as much as the next person..but some of those items are (how is this) maybe a little tiny bit icky...i like the signs and stuff, i would be sad to part with them, but the personal items like make up and make up towels and stained robes?? i am SURE they are laundered and that does make them authentic... she may be a star but she still has germs and bacteria to spread in that make up and stuff...ewwwwwwwwwwww...
if you bid on these things..maybe just keep them as keepsakes but i wouldn't recommend using them. i would be MORE inclined to offer personally autographed headshots of myself if i were her..or a signed wicked poster and donate that money.
happy bidding...........
Edit : due to some upset..i revised this message a little.

I think to some people the messiness personalizes it. My friend Colin had a pair of his used shoes (Sneakers!) sold @ a charity auction. I mean somebodys stinky shoes? remember fan is short for fanatic!

Does anyone remember some of the items Shoshana Bean auctioned off when she left WICKED?
I remember thinking that I wouldn't bid on some of the items but the crazy fans did. LOL.
Geez! She's got a lot of it stuff! That's great that she is doing this. I like the eye makeup with the lyric on it.
Ok, like I think Steph is great and stuff, but who really wants to wear her shirt that she sweat and stuff in? I mean come on!
It's nice that she's doing this, but maybe she could auction off things like an opening night gift or such. I don't think these things will go very far.
Idina did makeup and they went for a lot of money.

didn't Idina win the Tony and star on Broadway?
"hey, i like stephanie as much as the next person..but some of those items are GROSS...i like the signs and stuff but the personal items like make up and make up towels and stained robes?? thats just icky. she may be a star but she still has germs and bacteria to spread in that make up and stuff...ewwwwwwwwwwww..."
Andrea-
Out of everyone, I guess I'm most surprised at your comments. As someone who has been in the spotlight before, it seems a little tacky and beneath you to take the time out to talk badly about the items a fellow performer is trying to raise money with. You didn't have to state your support but you didn't have to go and discourage people either.
I doubt she consciously hand selected those items because she thought they would be THE big money makers. They were probably just the last things to be thrown away or packed up and she decided to sign it and bag it all at the last minute instead. It's a little momento from the tour for people to HAVE, not necessarily for them to USE.
And who the heck would want her Wicked robe if not for the green on it? I think it adds authenticity. It doesn't make it gross and "infected", I'm sure it's been through the laundry more than once, PLUS it's the same one that she's wearing in the Grimmerie book which I think makes it pretty special for fans of her and the show. People have auctioned off and bought much odder things. I don't see the big deal. What did YOU auction off after you were done with your shows?
Your idea about signed headshots is a good one, however, I'd imagine most of the people that will bid already have a few of those, personalized to them even.
And as for your comment about her making enough money to just make a donation, who is to say she hasn't done so privately?
I wont even touch your comment about Idina, I thought you were classier then to go there.

I am classy...but i am a little repulsed by some of those items..i wasn't the only one...if you read further up...so why attack only me....PM me if it disturbs you that much! =) and don't hear a TONE in that. i wrote that with a friendly tone. PM me if you are hurt by something i said...i am NOT AGAINST Stephanie OR THE AUCTION!!! i just stated that i thought SOME of the items were ICKY...and the make up items...well...as long as someone doesn't USE THEM!
i said a lot of nice things too. i think its a great thing she is doing and there are some great items.
you are SOOOO defensive when it comes to steph. as perfect and wonderful as she is..SHE will still leave bacteria on her make up brushes and make up, people might USE THEM!! ewww... she is a big girl. if i saw her i would say..what the heck?! and she would probably laugh.
i am not questioning whether the items are clean!
the comment about idina....all i MEANT was....someone who has starred on Broadway and won a Tony MIGHT cause people to have more interest in those items because MORE people know about HER.
relax...people who REALLY want this stuff won't take what I SAY to heart.
i will remove my comments since they offend you so much.
Come on, Popular. Comments like yours are why performers are afraid to post or reveal themselves if they do post.
Why isn't Andrea allowed to say that stuff is gross? IT IS. Sweaty shirts, kneepads, used hand towels and makeup? It might be worth something if it had been Liza's (even then...). But Stephanie Block?!
ditto raths statement.

by the way..
i didn't auction off ANYTHING..i kept everything that was given to me and was meaninful to me. i also GAVE things away to fans who were particularly special to me. for example, the blue earrings i wore in JH, i GAVE to a young girl as an opening night gift when she starred as Emma in her high school production. I also had a tour jacket that was CUSTOM made out of a velvet jacket that i owned..i GAVE that away as well to a fan who really loved it. the company gave us custom made leather JH diaries..i gave that to a young man for his opening night as JH. SHALL i go on??? because there are more things like that that i did for people. so don't even dare to JUDGE me as a person.
if it was something i packed up that i thought should go in the garbage..thats where it went!
I donate regularly to BC/EFA in OTHER people's names because i don't want credit for it nor do i want to use it as a tax write off. i do not mention it to my tax person...its just a gift..period.
popular..PLEASE just LOVE Stephanie but don't try to make the rest of us feel bad about ourselves for not agreeing 100% with something regarding her. i am sure SHE doesn't expect everyone to love her and agree with her ALL OF THE TIME..so why do YOU?
I'm sorry if comments like mine stop people from revealing themselves. In the same light, I can say comments like "those items are gross" are why some performers may choose to think twice before being generous.
I'm done discussing this. I'm obviously coming off defensive which was not my intention. I think we're all forgetting the bottom line here which is the charity.
You can PM me as well if you have anything further to say.
