The Spamalot performance:) Getting to see my friends laugh when they realized 'Niles from Frasier' was doing The Hustle, and getting to see Sieber headbanging. Awesome stuff. Good Times.
There's always room for pathos - and jazz hands.

Edward Albee's recognition of his partner - "For 35 years he made me a happy playwright, and tonight you have made me a happy playwright." Coming so soon after his partner's death, it was a difficult moment for him, I'm sure - but it was beautiful, and hopefully touched some hearts of those who heard him.

And, as can be seen by my icon and sig, I also really appreciated Mr. Irwin's win and speech.

I have to agree with Dgrant. Albee's speach was amazing! I had tears in my eyes.

re: Stop whining and tell me your highlight from last night.

It was very human and very touching. I don't think I could have had the composure.

And after seeing give a good performance in THE GOAT, Irwin improved a hundred-fold in VIRGINIA WOOLF. I was so pleased to see him rewarded, and I loved Kathleen's joy and 'thumbs-up' for him.

I don't think there is a playwright alive who is as brilliant as Albee.

I guess I'd choose between two. Norbie winning his Tony and his great speech, though it was expected, first I said whew then screamed, but from another vantage point I think the performance of Les Cagelles, I'm upset they didn't get a special Tony for excellence like the ensemble of La Boheme did. I'm glad La Cage chose to feature them. I've seen the show twice, but always great to watch them.

re: Stop whining and tell me your highlight from last night.

Albee's Speech...very touching, Hugh In BETWEEN commercial breaks.. hysterical..he took requests and sang RIO and also pulled a few people on stage to sing with him. Cherry Jones Winning..Liev Winning..DRS performance/norb winning,Sara Ramirez winning and their show stopping performance...,sally field as a presenter made me cream myself. Um.. seeing my parents go up on radio citys stage with their producing team to accept their 1st tony award for their show..um Dan F. winning for spelling bee... The I <3 HUGH shirts they had for sale in the lobby lol.. such a good evening..definately better then the year millie won.

Oh Wait and I MUST add..JERRY MITCHELL'S WIN thank god... and La Cages performance was AMAZING.. I just hope they cover themselves good down there to prevent any injury...

- Dan Fogler's speech (I haven't seen Spelling Bee)
- La Cage aux Folles winning Best Revival
- Edward Albee's speech

re: Stop whining and tell me your highlight from last night.

I thought the Tartaglia & D'Abruzzo moment was unnecessary. It was annoying and I nearly said "Oh please" when they said "Thanks for the Tony." A rather stupid way or reminding us that it beat the superior Wicked.

Disclaimer: I haven't seen Avenue Q yet, but I have heard the CD. I do enjoy it, but I (currently) think Wicked should have won.

re: Stop whining and tell me your highlight from last night.

James I've seen both shows and although I LOVE Avenue Q I do think that Wicked should've won the Tony because it has more substance. I'm not saying I don't love avenue Q but I have to agree with the thought that Wicked definetly should've won Best Musical...but I still enjoyed the moment last night!

Albee's speech was DARLING. I'm not gonna lie, I got a little choked up...

And I loved being able to watch the hat moment from Piazza again...I need to see that show one more time :0)

re: Stop whining and tell me your highlight from last night.

My highlights:

Edward Albee's speech (one of the few most human moments of the evening)
DRS performance/Norbie's win/speech
Christina's "entrance"
Idina presenting (damn she looked good)
Jerry Mitchell's win/speech
Hugh's opening dance
The montage of shows that opened this season
Piazza's performance (though some sound problems ensued, I really liked what I saw)

GREAT. BIG. STUFF.

Anything having to do with Norbert, really. And Liev winning. So happy for him!

re: Stop whining and tell me your highlight from last night.

Albee's speech- it had me choked up. To see a legend getting the recognition that he SO deserves was priceless, and his speech was sincere and heartwarming.

Hugh's dance sequence-which was one of the best performance's of the night.
