Stop whining and tell me your highlight from last night.

I admit, i've been whining too, but there were a *few* memorable moments last night...no thanks to the Tony voters or producers. In a night that seemed to go wrong in so many ways, what was your favorite moment?

I'm personally torn between Bill Irwin's delicious surprise victory and speech and Christina Applegate's hilarious entrance/fall.

Dan Fogler's speech. A thousand young men and women watching last night were probably inspired.

"We did it with this hair, and in this body. Be brave, be different."

JOHN LITHGOW I just realized, your last name is Butz! Both "Norbert" AND "Butz" are in your name! You must have gotten picked on a lot as a child!

Definitely Bill Irwin. Had the pleasure of briefly speaking w/ him on the opening night of Virginia Woolf. What a pleasant, kind and wonderful actor. He seemed so humbled just to be getting a comment of appreciation from little ol' me. Great speech bc it was from the heart and because he really didn't expect to win at all. Great moment.

Dan Fogler's speech and Johnny T. reunited with Princeton!

Definatly the fall, and I was completly blown away by Spelling Bee! So hilarious
(Martha Graham from a letter to Agnes de Mille) "There is a vitality, a life force, a quickening That is translated through you into action, And because there is only one of you in all time, This expression is unique. If you block it, It will never exist through any other medium And be lost. The world will never have it. It is not your business to determine how good it is, Nor how valuable it is, Nor how it compares with other expressions. It is your business to keep it yours, clearly and directly, To keep the channel open. You do not even have to believe in yourself or your work. You have to keep open and aware Directly to the urges that motivate you. Keep the channel open. No artist is pleased. There is no satisfaction whatever at any time. There is only a queer, divine dissatisfaction, A blessed unrest that keeps us marching And makes us more alive than others."

Spamalot, simply because I love spamalot.
And Dan's speech.
In the words of Mr. William Morris Barfee, "In my whole life I have only been able to breathe through one nostril and today is no exception!"

Christina's fall

"The internet is for porn and theatre."
"This table, he is over one hundred years old. If I could, I would take an old gramophone needle and run it along the surface of the wood. To hear the music of the voices. All that was said." - Doug Wright, I Am My Own Wife

Bernadette Opening the show, the Cagelles, Hugh's medley must have come off much better in person than on tv from everything youre all saying...it was a great event live. Yes, Areatha aside...everything else came off really well. (Well, except Christina's voice not carrying AT ALL)! All the other production numbers were beatifully done!

it was definitely a double, because when they said Christina Applegate and then showed "her" from the back, I thought, 'that doesn't look like Christina.

Christina's fall, Sara Ramirez' performance

Low-light - the producer from Doubt and her speech. Talk about a downer.
