Big fan of the TV show and would love to see it again having watched the finale but not enough to buy more tickets. There's a rumor flying around that the show is being show in the first half of February, though the only evidence seems to be the orchestra section off sale for a couple of performances. Any ideas?
Is there a reason they’d film in NYC as opposed to London where it’s much cheaper? That would make me dubious to believe.

Maybe because some effects (e.g., Mind Flayer) are said to be more impressive in the Broadway production.
Given how much of that final season seemingly depended on some knowledge of the play (one of the many strange choices those two brothers made), I would imagine that it will definitely be filmed/put on Netflix at some point whether it's happening in February/down the line.

From what I have heard, they are filming. There are dates blocked off in February.
Also yes, part of it is that the special effects are much more significant on Broadway, but also Broadway actually has a completely different version of the show. It's like 95% same production design, but the script got SIGNIFICANT updates when it came to Broadway that, to my knowledge, were not implemented in London. Scenes are re-ordered, cut, added, etc. Entire monologues switched characters (like the school introduction scene). Not sure why half of them were made, but it IS a different and more up-to-date show in NY. Also they probably want to capture Louis in the role and Alex as Brenner considering his role in S5.
Plus if they're filming, I'd bet on them replicating the Jamie Campbell Bower reveal in the final moments.

That's reason enough to film the Broadway production for me. He IS this show.

Capturing Lewis and capturing the new Flayer effect make it worth it for a Broadway capture. Even though I think I preferred some of the London script. It was admittedly very long but it captured the show well.
