I recently read in an interview that Jeremey Irons was interested in playing Frederick in the rumored Glen Close revival from years ago.

Victor Garber was a fantastic Frederick at the LA Opera production of ALNM a few years ago.

Irons played Frederick at City Opera a few years ago, co-starring with Juliet Stevenson and Claire Bloom.

It would be a sell-out and, quite honestly, other than salaries, the production wouldn't have to cost a bazillion dollars - no helicopters, you know. I've seen several "minimalist" productions that eschewed the elaborate Aronson style setting and were quite evocative in their own way.

Angela Lansbury could triumph as Mdme. Armfeldt.
