Hi all!
A friend and I are thinking about seeing a show and wanted to try and go for Student Rush tickets. For anyone who went through the process, are they hard to come by? Are there any shows that are easier to get them for than others? I know there are tons of postings about this topic but just wanted to reach out and ask! Thanks!

Not all shows have student rush. Check this for the basics, which vary from show to show. http://www.playbill.com/article/broadway-rush-lottery-and-standing-room-only-policies-com-116003?utm_source=homepage&utm_medium=promo&utm_campaign=popularlinks
The more specific your question, the better we can actually help.

This completely varies show to show. Sometimes you need to show up before 8am to get tickets and sometimes you can walk up an hour before curtain and they are still available. We could give out more specific advice if ou told us what show you were interested in. I would check Broadway for Broke People for specific policies and prices.

Thank you both- I will definitely check those out! My friend and I were interested in seeing either Fiddler, Les Mis, or Phantom as of right now

As was mentioned earlier, not all rush is student rush.

Fiddler and Les Mis both have a general rush, i.e. anyone can get those tickets, not just students.
I'd say both should be fairly easy by now, but that's just my gut feeling and the fact that it's summer and a lot of tourist are in town might make it harder. You could search this board for topics specially about rush reports on those shows and see what people have been saying.
Phantom only has an online lottery. That means you enter until a certain time (usually around 3pm for an 8pm show), then they'll draw winners and notify them within 5min-1h . I haven't done the Phantom lottery so I don't know how this one specifically works.
