Jennifer Hudson as Joanne in RENT
Syesha Mercado as Mimi in RENT
Paris Hilton as Margot in Legally Blonde ("Uh guys, she's not here!" "...That's hot.")
don't intend to start an argument here, but...
someone above (i forget who) said that Christina Aguilera + Beyonce were untalented.
i agree that their voices aren't really right for musical theatre, and they should stick to the charts but they are far from talentless.
i'm sure anyone who can appreciate vocal talent would rather listen to them sing than half the 'artists' around right now.
anyways, it would be interesting to see them in the roles of Aida, but...not sure if i would want their take to be the ONLY version the majority of the population see.
christina and beyonce aren't UNtalented, they should just stay away FAR away from theatre, in my opinion.
how about reese witherspoon as nellie forbush? (don't know if she could handle it vocally, but she would be awesome)

Aren't half the girls who play Mimi black, NOT hispanic?
Kelsey Grammar as Lawrence in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.

I don't know what her ethnicity is, probably half black, half white? Either way, I think she looks Hispanic enough and her voice is pretty killer. I'm sure she could act the part. She said she's done youth theater. I'd pay to see her as a Vanessa.
I don't think "looking" Hispanic is enough to play one.

SNL cast members in anything, especially if funny.
Agree that some of the choices here are "already" Broadway, so how could they be "stunt" casting...?
LOVE the Hugh Laurie, Cristina Aguilera, and Amy Adams (I always thought she should have been cast as Ariel) .
BTW, lildogs, Mr. Korman left us about a month ago...sorry to say.
Oh, and I'm for Groban love, too! I think he would be great in some English period show, maybe "Sense and Sensibility" :)

Legally Blonde:
Kristen Bell as Elle with Lee Pace as Emmett. Cyndi Lauper as Paulette. Scott Speedman as Warner. Christina Hendricks as Vivian. Victor Garber as Callahan.
Wicked:
Joe Anderson or Kevin Zegers as Fiyero.
Hairspray:
Candice Bergen or Elizabeth Perkins as Velma
Passing Strange:
Aisha Tyler as the Mother
Tracie Thoms in Rebecca's track
"how about reese witherspoon as nellie forbush?"
I remember a SNL skit where she played Ariel and her singing was atrocious. This was before "Walk The Line" where she went through singing bootcamp, but I don't think the raw talent is there singing-wise
