Not to upset any of Felciano's fans but I do not believe he is at a point in his career where he will be slated to headline a major Broadway revival of Sunday in the Park with George--I am sure the producers would do what they can to bring Evans (an Olivier-award winning actor who has been with the revival from the beginning earning raves) to New York before casting Felciano. Just my opinion and in no way an attack to Manoel Felciano's talents.
To backtrack some, if this goes into 54, does that mean Roundabout will produce it? If they do, won't it be a limited run? Or would an open commercial production be able to go in there?
That's funny. Do some people really think that 36 is in the 'early thirties'?
It would be so great if I could still call myself a teen, lol.
Aww, my very first double post. How exciting.

No, I agree with you Foscas. And I actually WOULD love to see Evans transfer to Broadway. But given discussions about possible casting, I'd be remiss not to mention Mano's name as a candidate for "George". Because, regardless of whether or not he has a realistic shot of getting the role, I do think he'd be asbolutely wonderful, and I know how much he would love to play that part. Anyone who doubts his abilities should listen to his rendition of "Finishing the Hat". It was superb.
And because my earlier post got lost in limbo, I repeat that Mr Felciano is actually in his mid-thirties, which age-wise, is the perfect range for George Seurat.
"That's funny. Do some people really think that 36 is in the 'early 30's'?"
Well, that's what Manoel said (cause that's an interview). People just don't like people to know their exact age, right? Let's just imagine that he's still early 30s, haha!
I always think that's interesting, when famous people try to fib their age. Jeez, it's right there. Or when they totally lie about their weight, that can be embarassing, like with Kristie Alley. There is no way that chick weighs 125 lbs.
Well, no wonder! He really gives me a feeling that he's still in his late 20s or something...
Sunday...George is NOT about race, it's about love and passion and art and perspective. I don't think a Black Georges would be a problem AS LONG AS he can sing well and gets a grip of the character! To be honest, I cudn't care less about their race/height, Daniel Evans was short! And why did no one complain when Audra was Dot? Now she's black! It's call imagination and theatre moulinrougehk!
In Mano's defense, when that Broadway.con interview was held he was roughly 34, which IS, technically speaking, "early 30's". The irony in his case, though, is that he's often perceived as "too young looking" or "boyish" for certain roles.
I liked Mano in Sweeney but I dont think he's THAT great *runs away before someone comes and kill me*
Why would anyone kill you for voicing an opinion? You're perfectly entitled to feel that way.
ruthiefan_felix: old story already, please update this board. The race board is already over!
moulinrougehk: I no...
Anyway, I really think if Gavin Creel is abit older, he'd be a great Georges! I mean... honestly, there's nothing NOTHING he can't sing lol!
*off topic, i'd really want him as Jack in Into The Woods London concert!*
Hmm... personal feelings: What I think about George is masculinity. I still can't get this feeling from Gavin Creel... I need to see him more...
I think Georges for me has a strong mind on art but equivocates on his real life and actually fairly weak in it. I think in some way or another, he gives me a feeling that he is trying to ignore the harsh reality - that's why I don't like Michael since he comes on as abit too strong (looks & voice-wise).
provin my point XDD
HA...HA...HA... well, partial face can't be accurate, also, masculinity is a feeling, not physical appeareance.
