didn't the original post say "young" Susan is older the Ms. Applegate and not really in the young category anymore.
I hate to say it, but I feel a Brooke Shields replacement coming on.
^ Nah. The Weissler's aren't going to do that. I highly doubt it.
Anyway, Brooke is all wrong for the role.
I don't think Brooke is all wrong for the role, she already proved she could do comic roles in Wonderful Town and she danced to a Tony-award winning choreography, did you see her doing Conga! Anyways, I don't think Brooke would accept to do yet another replacement, I think people won't actually receive her as a real Broadway performer until she originates a role and she's said she wants to create a role on Broadway already, she says she has paid her dues.
I am a Brooke fan, but i don't think her look is right for the role. For this revival that went with a very sweet look for Charity, and I don't see Brooke in the role.
Anyway, she has already said she wants to do an original show. I hope she does.
Anyway. They better get Paige Davis for Charity..
Wow! I had know clue whoshe was and now I know because she is on trading spaces (I think she is the host). - Page Davis

I think Paige would be a perfect fit for that role... We got to see her in Chicago last summer and she was great! Sorry, but Brooke did nothing for me vocally in Wonderful Town.
I loved Brooke in Wonderful Town and plan to see her in Chicago. I saw Christina and I think Brooke is wrong in the part. I really don't see why this show isn't doing well. I thought it was really entertaining.

Susan Egan is actually a pretty freakin' good dancer. She studied to be a dancer before she went into musical theatre.
I thought Brooke Shields was really good and funny in Wonderful Town, ok she is not the always seamless Donna Murphy but I think she made the role her own. I thought she'd be right for Charity because she can dance, sing, and she is a great performer and I think she could pull off that mixture of vulgar, naive, good person. But she's made it clear that she wants to originate a role on Broadway (maybe with her good friend Sherie Rene Scott, yay!) so I doubt that after Chicago she'll settle for another replacement.
