Agreed. She's incredible. As much as I love seeing her weekly on TV, though, I'd love for her to come back to Broadway.

Agreed. She'd be such a great candidate to bring life some of the iconic roles. All the Norma Desmond buzz is killing me, I keep dream casting the potential Sunset Boulevard with actresses apart from Close, lol.
I would also love to see her be in a gender-reversed production of Company. Or Follies.

YES PLEASE. The video of her singing "Perfect Relationship" on Bunheads is a perfect audition: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rI9mhgffDYU

Not sure if this means anything, but I happened to see Sutton in New York twice last week! The first time was Wednesday night in the lobby of Hamilton (it was actually really cute...she was on a double date with her husband and Megan McGinnis/Adam Halpin) and the second time was walking by the stage door for She Loves Me on Thursday night. I'm unsure if she films all of Younger in NYC, but I'm hoping she was having some theater talks. Maybe I'm just reading too much into it... but a boy can dream! :)

She did "promise" to be back on Broadway "soon" in a recent Broadway.com meet the star thing. I don't know if she has enough time to work on a new musical though. I think a revival is probably more likely.

Want to bump this post to discuss possible return of Foster. What do you want to see her as? I saw her in concert last weekend, and she has added Rose's Turn to her setlist and it absolutely killed me. These are things I want to see her play within the next 5-10 years :
Mama Rose, Gypsy
Bobby, gender-reversed Company
Norma, Sunset Boulevard
Jenna, Waitress (I doubt she'll do a replacement, but oh if she did!)
I definitely need it to be more of a acting heavy role, because she is a terrific actress with a great comedic timing.

Yes, agreed she is a good singer and great dancer, but tbh, I don't think she's that great an actor. I like her overall performances, but not sure she has the acting ability to be an outstanding Norma Desmond or Rose in Gypsy. Just my opinion though.

I wasn't sold on her as an actress until Violet, where she really blew me away with her immersion in the role. I think she would make a great Phyllis in Follies, or on the comedy side, a fantastic Pennywise in Urinetown.

I just wrote a piece for Gold Derby about Sutton's performance in Younger and her chances at the Emmy Awards:

Fortunately, Younger does very short seasons, so that allows her to do some limited stage engagements in between.

I don't know how true this is, but I've heard some rumors about her coming back to Broadway in Jason Robert Brown's musical adaptation of A League of Their Own in the Geena Davis role, Dottie Henson. True or not, she would be perfect for this role on stage.

A Brown musical is indeed perfect for her voice. I always wanted her to replace Kelli in Bridges (I was actually rooting for a lot of high profile actresses to do short engagements the way Hedwig was done - Sutton, Idina, Laura Benanti).
