Oh my christ, she sang 'If The World Were Like the Movies'?!?!?! That's insane. I was just in a production of My Favorite Year (The show that the song is from) and that song had to be cut because the guy singing it couldn't sing! He only got the part for his acting, but they cut an entire song from him. Funny how it's the one song I actually /like/ that they cut. *sigh* I would have loved to hear Sutton singing that.

You know it and you want it... you just can't believe you've got it.

Oh my God, I wish I could've gone. She sang Oklahoma!? I can't even imagine how that would sound, but I'm an Oklahoma! freak, so I would've loved to hear it. I wonder if she'll do something like this again....

OMG I can't describe how awesome this concert was! I went to the 8:00 one with Bway_Mill_Fan re: Sutton Foster's Lincoln Center debut Concert Sutton was amazing as ever! I loved the intimate setting of the place with the city in the background and candles...ah! Whenever she was singing you felt like you were the only one in the room. My favorite song was Lunch Hour haha It was too funny! Christian would like that song re: Sutton Foster's Lincoln Center debut Concert It left me speechless... I was very fortunate to get to go. I had a great time!

I was at the 11 o'clock sow...whic was quite amusing. First of all, she cracked some jokes about the lightning, which occasionally struck right on the down beat, haha.

Also, in the middle of a song early in the show, a fire alarm went off, and she was a riot when she ended the song and she was joking about it.

She was absolutely hilarious, and sang beautifully. I really liked her choice of songs, though I only knew of three.

She took some pleasure in mocking her boyfriend's taste in music, and playing an embarassing tape of her and Hunter singing. She took out school portraits of her and Hunter and started swaying them back and forth lipsyncing to the song, it was classic. Her band took out lighters and started swaying them back and forth...the whole concert was so clever.

Vocally she was absolutely beautiful. It's probably one of the best things I've ever spent my money on.

Wow, I so wish I could have gone. The pictures looked like a lot of fun. After LSOH that night, Jen Cody picked up Hunter, and I was like, I wonder if they're going to Sutton's concert. Funny. Well, good for Sutton. I'm glad for her that it went so well!

To all those people who said "I wish I went". I just want to say how pround I am to be a part of this "sophisticated audience" (in Sutton's words). I have been looking forward to seeing her in a cabaret setting for some time now, and this is a dream come true. Sutton is so multi-talented! Even if she never appeared on a Broadway stage, she could be a star just as a singer.

I saw the 8:00 o clock show, as the sun was setting and "New Jersey never looked so good!". In fact I scheduled a vacation week around this. I also saw Avenue Q, Bombay Dreams, Alegria, and Little Shop. All in all, one really great week!

Getting back to Sutton, she picked a real nice mix of songs. Some are familiar, but most were not. My favorites were the love songs, "That Smile" and "Beautiful You", which were new to me, and I would think to many others too. (Hint to any agent/producers out there). There were also some great houmorous moments, most notably her intro to "Oklahoma". I also enjoyed hearing her life stories, especially when she played a karioke tape of her and Hunter doing a duet at about the age of 10 and 15 respectively, which was a hoot!
