Ran into Sutton Foster earlier today and asked her about her plans for the near future. She's set for Young Frankenstein and is leaving Drowsy Chaperone "in 4 weeks." Still no word on a replacement.

Did she say if Young Frankenstein is going to have previews in Seattle, or just try-outs?

She didn't mention that at all....just that she's in it.
That's great Sutton's doing Young Frankenstein. She's been getting show after show since Millie.
Sweet! I will be in town before she leaves the show!

Well I'm still glad she's in it! She's such a great performer
April 18th is a Wednesday. Would she be leaving in the middle of the week?

Mea culpa - it's (probably) the 15th. She said 4 weeks from today, so I just automatically tacked a month to today's date.

All good things must come to an end. Glad I got to see her.
What happened to the thread of people's guesses as to who her replacement would be?
That reminds me, if she is leaving in month we should hear of her official replacement in a few weeks.

Are you serious? The 15th? Cool...I just bought tickets for the 14th....talk about luck.

As much as I will miss her in the show, I'm glad she's leaving, now Nancy Anderson can take over.
But it is sad that she's leaving.
Do you think she'll be in most of her last couple weeks?

I can't wait to see her in Young Frankenstein. I'm looking forward to her talking and singing in a German accent.
Just a little off topic, has anyone noticed that in all of the old horror movies like Frankenstein and Dracula, that the villagers of Translyvania talk with a German accent?

Probably because nobody knows what a Romanian accent sounds like.

I hate to see her go. Her replacment will have big shows to fill.
Well if it is in 4 weeks couldn't it be either the 15th or the 22nd?
If she has to go, and they're not bumping up an understudy, I'm still voting for someone like Janine LaManna to replace her.

It kind of makes sense if you think about it. Typically two or more cast members leave around the same time, right? (I'm making a generalization here, I know) Jonathan Crombie is taking over for Bob Martin starting...tomorrow? He will be there for 4 weeks...until right around the same time (or so it seems) as Sutton. It appears that they will be leaving together? (at the same time?)

... are you SERIOUS? Anne of Green Gables Jonathan Crombie? Oh man. I don't want to see this show again, but I love the guy.

geeze, I'm at Drowsy on the 18th for the first time and already know that I'm seeing John Glover, which I don't really mind, since I have nothing to compare him to and I'm thinking I should just assume I won't be seeing Sutton (if I do, it would be a very delightful surprise!).
Aw, I'm sad to see her go, but I can't wait to see what else she will do. I'm sure she'll be fabulous in YF.
