Ado Annie D'Ysquith said: "I think the "twang" of her voice is what makes her have a unique sound. And quite frankly, if being able to sing, act, AND dance make for "chorus girl" talent, I'd be a very happy chorus girl. Reno Sweeney is a true triple threat leading lady, as is Charity Valentine.

In that vein, I have a special admiration for her because (like me) she is a "classic musical" mezzo, and I feel like you don't see many of them in the spotlight these days...

I enjoyed her in Drowsy and Shrek.

I was so thrilled with her performance in Anything Goes that I didn't make the trip to NY to see my beloved SJB in it, thinking she had too tall an order following her.

I see your point, but the line between them isn't that thin in my opinion, nor do  critical things come up organically  a lot on here  in the sense that you seem to be implying. But ah well. We'll just agree to disagree.

It's strange that all of her sundry talents do not add up to real star quality..  Also, yes, she does grate on the nerves, as do her acolytes.
