Sutton in Carrie the Musical
re: Sutton in Carrie the Musical#25
Posted: 10/7/05 at 2:39pmtotally agree with you Matt. "And Eve Was Weak" is brilliant and Carrie would surely be a hit if revived on broadway.

Posted: 10/7/05 at 2:52pmGotta love those Debbie Allen dancers in Carrie.

Posted: 10/7/05 at 3:53pmSutton is old enough to play Margaret, for God's sake...When are you people going to learn that the almighty Sutton isn't perfect for EVERY role?!?
re: Sutton in Carrie the Musical#28
Posted: 10/7/05 at 3:54pmCelia is definitely the better choice.
re: Sutton in Carrie the Musical#29
Posted: 10/7/05 at 4:00pmI would like to hear sutton sing "I'm Not Alone"... but not badly enough for her to star in a revival. though it would probably be a success today I still think it would be difficult to find actors willing to do it and producers willing to put money into it...
re: Sutton in Carrie the Musical#30
Posted: 10/7/05 at 4:03pmCelia is PERFECT for Carrie: older, but looks younger, with pipes that stretch into next week.

And I think if there are producers willing to invest in Lennon, Good Vibrations, In My Life and Brooklyn, Carrie would not have too much of a problem. The only reason it's NOT being considered is that Gore/Pitchford (or one fo the two, I forget which) refuses to release the rights.

Posted: 10/7/05 at 4:15pmoh, well. I have "Don't Waste the Moon" stuck in my head now... thanks a lot...
re: Sutton in Carrie the Musical#33
Posted: 10/7/05 at 4:21pmthey should do a revival with no sets, a lot of blood and ten people all playing their own instruments. that would be really cool...

"'Kay! Be that way!
Good girls go to heaven so they say.
But the bad girls, they go everywhere.
No fair! So there! I swear!"
Now I have to listen to this on the way home.
GOD, I LOVE CARRIE!
re: Sutton in Carrie the Musical#37
Posted: 10/7/05 at 7:12pmShe told me a while back that she would "love" to play Mama Rose in a revival of Gypsy someday.

You wouldn't.
I think the book is horrible - it does not flow right and it doesn't ever mention Carrie's telekenesis.
But if it were good, the show wouldn't be Carrie.
But fear not...once I finish revising the book - I will revive it.
No worries.

Nothing you can say or do,
Will ever hurt me again...
