Kiss Me is in the show, and I'm pretty sure it's on the CD too. The Barnes and Noble track list left out some of the songs. The order of the clips on the B&N site corresponds to the track list on Amazon.

The clips seem strange to me. I don't know, they sound 'weak'. I suppose because there are less musicians and actors singing the choruses than most productions. I didn't think it sounded absent or weak when I saw it, but I guess I'll just wait to buy it and not judge it on the clips.

Besides, Patti LuPone is reason alone.

I was refering to MarkCohen's comment about HIS production. He said it was cut. I was just wondering how you do Sweeney withouth the Kiss Me Qaurtet. I'm not judgind the show based on the clips. I'm making an observation from the CD. Personally Sweeney is on the top of my list of shows to see but I already have Patti singing Lovett on CD I don't think I need another one.

How have you heard the full CD? Patti's new singing for Lovett is totally different from her concert singing. Updated On: 1/15/06 at 12:55 AM

which one the new one? NO I'm making an observation from the clips I heard. It's all music I know intimately and already have 2 versions of. There's nothing new here that I would need or would like to have. I like big large sounds when it comes to listening to music. Experiencing it in the theatre is entirely different.

For some reason - I am very confused.

I'm just saying in general - I don't think people should judge the CD and say they do or don't like it based on cheap quality 30 second clips. The CD will be the full songs and of better quality.

Don't be confused. I can say it based on hearing about 15 clips already. I don't like the way they sound. I know the difference between sound quality and orchestration. Frankly I'm not a huge fan of Michael Cerveris and it's very scaled down. I just said when driving in my car listening to Sweeney I want it large and loud and big. I'm not gonna get that from this CD. It's not that type of production which is fine. I said before I can't wait to see it. Theatrical experiences and Cast recording experiences are VERY different. That's why people love listening to Steel Pier but wouldn't wanna see it. I'd love to see the show but I don't wanna listen to this version. It'd be one thing if I didn't know all the music and the ins and outs of the entire Tunick orchestration. But I do. I heard them 8 times a week for quite a bit. It's just how I feel.

"I'm actually a little underwhelmed by the CD in general. I really need to see this show. Ummm How do you do this show without Kiss Me? It's got major plot things going on. At any rate the High note at the end didn't really impress me. It was just sorta there."

Kiss Me was in the show! It was just the quartet after Ladies IN their Sensitivities that was cut. It was cut because it wouldn't have made sense in our production to have the Judge and Beadle just sort of stand there singing "Todd, Todd, Todd eh?" I saw why the director cut it, but it was such fantastic music to sing and it sounded great.

In regards to plot, the quartet really doesn't add much. The wedding moves from Monday to Sunday and that's about it.
