Does it get really corwded on Staurday nights? How long does it take most of the actors. Could anyone please answer thins because I am going next week and would really like to stagedoor.

I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.

It does tend to get crowded on Saturday nights, but not so much that it's impossible to get autographs. When I stagedoored, most of the actors came out pretty quickly, and they all signed autographs, posed for pics, etc. Patti Lupone came out after most of the actors had gone, and she was realy funny and gracious. Most people left after she had gone, but a few of us stayed for Michael Cerveris. He took a REALLY long time to come out. When he finally did, he apologized for taking so long, and stayed a good long while chatting with everyone.

I highly recommend stagedooring this show, as it's one of the sweetest casts on Broadway. Everyone on that show is a delight.

In my experience, it is crowded, but it usually doesn't take Michael Cerveris that long to come out. Everyone is extremely nice, but if you want to get certain peoples autographs you gotta speak up. Last time I was there, I wanted a picture with Alex Gemignani, and when he came out I figured folks would stop him but no one did.

patti lupone was extremely rude to my friend and i when we came to the show. We waited for 45 mins. in the snow and when she did come out we asked her for a picture and she said i have to go, i'm not like you guys and want to stay out in this. She was just really upsetting cause i adore her so much and she gives a brillant performance. The rest of the cast is fabulous though!

Well Patti is Patti.

She has good and bad days. The day I went she had a performance to go to, but she still took a picture with me. She was very nice to my family.

This whole schemada bothers me. No **** Patti wouldn't want to stand in the snow, She has 8 shows a week to do and this is her SERVICE, She owes the audiences next week great performances too and I don't blame her for not wanting to frolic in the snow with you all and catch cold or worse.
You got exactly what you paid for, A show. Leave these people alone! This is getting out of control and if it were me I would have a sign out that I DO NOT DO "Stagedoor" and thank you but go away, I have a life.
You have all been spoiled rotten and it is time the actors take back their power and stop this insanity.

Just as a warning to anyone who may not know, I don't think she likes it when people bring up Evita.... re: Sweeney Stagedoor

When did this whole stage door frenzy start anyway?

Oh and yes, It would not be smart to bring up anything relating to ALW.

Does the cast come out after matinees?

Everyone but Patti comes out after matinees.

I also wanted to add that if for some reason it does take Michael a while to come out, it is totally worth the wait. He is always extremely kind and gracious as very easy to talk to. After The Apple Tree, my friend and I waited on him for three hours. We thought for sure he had left already, but I wasn't going to give up. He did come out, and it shocked the hell out of him that we were waiting for HIM.

heh thanks for the warning! I forgot about the thing between her and alw. What about les mis stuff (like my cd booklet)?

That's a good question, Chinkie. I honestly don't know the answer. I myself wanted to bring up Anything Goes, but figured it wasn't for the best. And I think a lot of it has to do with her mood. If she seems like she's in a good mood, it would probably be fine.

I believe Patti was very fond of her experience in ANYTHING GOES and LES MIS.

Atleast it seems that way on her website.

When I met her in October I mentioned that I adored her in Anything Goes and she was exstatic about it. She thanked me and talked for a few minutes about how wonderful it was and her admiration for Cole Porter which I share.

She signed my Anything Goes cd and spat on my Evita cd and ran into her car.

haha j/k about Evita, I didn't bother having her sign my burned cds, just my nice Reno Sweeney cd cover and was so happy. Last saturday I walked past and she took like 3 different shots with the same group of 10 year old girls, but skipped some other people. Shes definitely hard to predict but oh well. I let her do whatever she wants, shes Patti, simple as that

I asked her if she would mind signing an Evita Playbill...she looked at me, smiled, and gestured for me to give it to her. She looked at it fondly, signed it, and handed it back. Such a nice lady.

I was there last Saturday too (C). Patti was definitely very gracious, as was all the other actors too. She took a little while to get out, but it was totally worth the wait. Michael Cerveris is really sweet. We had this two minute conversation about how those are his eyes on the poster.

I randomly stop by to see them or will bump into them on the street and just casually say how amazing their show is. They are all such hard workers and they are all so admirable. I love them all and out of currently running broadway shows, I absolutely got my moneys worth to hear the wonderful orchestrations and watch them go to work.
One of the best things too I'd say is that they all come out so quickly and even in rain they came out to sign for the most part.
And yeah the yes are creepy. I love the design of that poster so much. Dying for the cd, possibly the most awaited day of the year other than moving in day at college

When I went, the entire cast was very nice. I got them all (minus John Arbo, he left at a very brisk pace) to sign a poster. Some of them (Alexander Gemignani and Mark Jacoby) were actually quite surprised I stopped them to ask. Very nice cast, they were all very sociable.

As for Patti, she was running late that evening. She came out long after everyone, and the car was waiting for her and Michael. She said she would have loved to stay and talk/take pictures, but she didn't want to keep Micheal waiting. She seemed quite nice to me, just running late lol

Usually John and Marc dash because I think they feel awkward, probably assuming all anyone wants is Patti and Michael. I think they both add such a great touch to the show and really like seeing a different kind of Judge Turpin. I love getting a good word in to all of them and want them to feel appreciated too, whether they care or not. Alexander when I saw him usually signed like everyone else though.

yes- they do. Make sure you ask them quickly! They shouldn't run away like that! They were both so great!
