if i see a wendesday matinee of Sweeney Todd, will i be seeing understudies or the cast? does anyone know of any instinces where it wasn't the cast? or any info? thanks.
I doubt you'll see any understudies. From what I remember, only Mark Jacoby, Michael Cerveris, and Patti LuPone have missed performances...and I believe only once each. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Edit:
So the people who have missed performances are:

*John Arbo
*Lauren Molina
*Patti LuPone
*Ben Magnuson
*Mark Jacoby

Have Alex, Diana, and Donna?

I think the whole cast does matinees.

Dirty Rotten Scoundrel, Ben Magnuson has missed performances as well.

If you see Sweeney this wednesday, you will see Judy Kaye as Mrs. Lovett. Any other wednesday, the full cast is in unless something happens, then an understudy will go on.

Actually DRS, I believe the only ones who haven't missed a performance are Mano and Michael. I never heard of Michael missing one. Lauren missed her first this week. Everyone else has been out at least once.
		     			Ah, okay, hehe, wasn't sure.

I wasn't sure if Michael missed one, but I, for some reason, remember someone saying they did. Thanks for the corrections, don't want to give out false info!

No problem. I forgot about Diana...I don't think she's missed one yet.

so, it's a rare thing that they do? unless it's scheduled.
Yes. I've seen the show twice and I've has the full cast.

This is somewhat random, but does anyone know if John Arbo has ever been out?

Alex and Donna have both been out. (Only once each, I think.)

I know that John was sick and was out for quite a few shows.

		     			ok, here's a new question.

should i go for row aa108-9(front row center) or b1-3(couple rows back on left aisle)?

ive heard some differing opinions about aa so i'm not sure. once again, thanks for all of your advice.

If you're in AA center...just don't be late...'cause then it gets scary

I think I'm going to be in the minority, but I've sat in AA115 and C3, and I preferred C3. It is interesting to sit close to the stage for this show, especially if you like the creepy stares and eye contact, but I agree with those who've said that the first row is a strain on your neck and makes it difficult to see the entire stage. Since you'd be right in the center, that might help, but I think your neck would thank you for going back a couple rows. I definitely didn't feel as though I was sitting too far off to the side, and you're still pretty close to the stage.
I'm not positive, but I *think* Diana might have missed once.

2 Tickets, Center Orchestra Row AA, Seats 108-109

wee!! i'm sure it'll rule. thanks all.

The only cast members to yet miss a show are Manoel Felciano and Michael Cerveris. Everyone else has been out at least once.

As for seating, I'd go with AA center, unless you're easily intimidated (expect a LOT of eye contact). C3 is also a really great seat.

Andrew I sat AA9 and wow it was the most phenomenal experience I have ever had in the theater and I had seen it from 4 other places before, but this one topped it. A LOT of eye contact, no straining, full view (the stage was level with my eyes pretty much). You will LOVETT! haha had to
