re: Sweeney on Fleet Street - Aug 21 - Who's Going

12:40-12:45. I walk to the car that was down the street and I was in it at 12:45. It only took a minute or two to get to the car.

Edit: Unless my dad's car is randomly fast...

So 12:30-12:40 ish is when it ended. re: Sweeney on Fleet Street - Aug 21 - Who's Going

I was there last night with friends to celebrate my birthday, and let me tell you, there is nothing like hearing about Donna's ass ball to start off another year!

I was talking to the videotaper before. He said he was recording for Michael, and it was up to Michael to decide what he wants to do with it. I wouldn't be surprised if it was available through BCEFA.

yeah, can i just say that she was seriously my favorite thing last night? when i was leaving she was walking by and someone i was with said "donna, you were SO much fun!" and she stood around and chit chatted and said that's basically what her show is like, except there's songs attached to all of these incredibly funny situations.

so, of course, i'm totally buying tickets now. love her!

I was at the stage door for Sweeney Todd tonight, and hoping that Donna wouldn't find it crass, I gave her a tennis ball with the word "ASS" written on it in bold letters. She freaked out, lsughed, showed it to Manoel Felciano, and told me she was taking it to every show with her. And then she gave me a kiss.

But really, Donna stole the show last night, and I'm going to have see her show!

Haha
I wondered who it was.
I was across the barrier on the other side and saw that. It was awesome. re: Sweeney on Fleet Street - Aug 21 - Who's Going

I stand corrected, you are as vapid as they say.

Donna Lynne is a force of nature. I went to her first gig, and, I'm not kidding, we were all laughing so hard our faces hurt. She's just a born entertainer.

And, not for nothing, but the woman can SING.

I have to say, though, that the highlight for me was Ben Magnuson doing "Lady, Your Roof Brings Me Down". What a kick ass rendition.

I totally agree with Chica on that. I loved the violin solo, and the way the instruments were integrated to create the kind of sound they did when they're not usually used that way..if that makes sense.

I love that woman so much. But I would have to agree, Ben Magnuson's Scott Weilend cover was absolutely amazing. The violin soloist was fantastic! And at tonight's performance of Sweeney, his "Johanna" was so beautiful that I think I might have stopped breathing for a few seconds. He continues to impress me more and more.

Smartpenguin - I love discovering that I went to a show and was standing so close to a fellow BWW member! I thought the show was wonderful tonight! What did you think?

EDIT:
WickedRentQ, you were also there? Och!

He did that one at July 31 gig. Just...completely amazing. When he said the title of the song he was going to sing, I flipped out. I wish he'd gotten to sing at least one other song.

I *really* hope Ben does more solo gigs in the future. He has such a great voice, and performs with so much passion and conviction. And "Lady, Your Roof Brings Me Down" is just brilliant.

We sold out all of the signed ones, but there were still quite a few unsigned ones left. I think BCEFA took some.

I was there on Monday night, but didn't get to the merchandise area -- was the new cerveris music for sale or just Dog Eared?

Thanks.

Just Dog Eared--which was available in CD or in vinyl (not available in stores or anywhere else or something like that...
