Posted: 3/25/05 at 11:12pmso i guess michelle dejean(i think thats her last name) is cutting her stint as roxie short, sadly. Anyone else find it sublimely ironic that one of the first people fired from the show, solange sandy, is the only one who currently is employed on broadway. (no offense to the other actors, i feel bad for all of them for this happening but still)

jonartdesigns: I know what you mean. I guess the Weisslers must really have liked Solange after all, since they fired her from Charity only to immediately rehire her for Chicago. I suppose they must have approved of her work (as did the critics), even if they did not think she was right for Helene. Sad for the rest of the cast... Lucky Solange (and she was marvelous in Minneapolis)!

Posted: 3/26/05 at 4:36amI think they should've just pushed the broadway start date back a little to when Christina's foot was better. The sales would've built up as it got closer to the opening. Nobody wants to see Charlotte, we wanted to see Christina, that's why the ticket sales died down.

Riedel has a special column in the Post today about it.

Posted: 3/26/05 at 9:41amThere always seems to be a "production source" who likes to see a show fail. Do any happy people ever call Riedel?

Pushing the opening back would have put them in jeopardy of missing the deadline for the Tonys. Besides, they were in trouble with this production before Applegate broke her foot. I love how frivolous some folks are with the producer's money. I suppose dropping $7.5 million-plus is easy if it's not your cash.
I'll get my refund today and spend it on a ticket for Spelling Bee.

Posted: 3/26/05 at 10:11amI am SO disappointed but I understand why it had to be done. I just bought my tix on Friday night dammit! AARRGGHH. I was hoping to see Charlotte. *sigh.* My mother and I have been so excited about this, going around singing the songs and everything.... bah! :o(
