There's still Pacific Overtures, Chote.
well ok this is odd, just called telecharge about this because i have tickets in June and was wondering about how to get money back and the guy there said it's just rumor and that his superviser had told him that just minutes ago. So I don't know...this is odd...i'm really really wanting to believe the telecharge guy! Or is it that they are just holding on to hope as well?
It's sad when it's all about the money. What happened to talent and a good time? That should count for somethin'.
I read that 12 Angry Men might go into the Hirschfeld
You need to give telecharge a few days. The formal announcement is literally just hours old.
I feel so bad when a show closes out of town. When you think of all of the hopes and aspirations of a new company going in initially and trying their very best to succeed....it's such a shame. One thing I always wondered concerning the producer's statement that Charlotte would open only to be succeeded eventually by a mended Christina was....what if Charlotte received great reviews and then Christina's were tepid at best in comparison? If they were able (contract permitting), would they have sacked Christina?
Wow, this really is a shame. I'm glad that I was able to see it here in Boston. But it's a real shame for everyone involved. I'm shocked right now. Shocked, but not surprised.

well i hope they settle it soon because I need my money back ASAP so I can book another show! Sorry to be all hyper its just it took a long time to agree on DRS and Sweet Charity as shows to see (as you can imagine planning a trip for 4 is not easy), so now we have to go back through and find something else.

It wouldn't count for somethin if it were YOUR 7.5 million dollars going down the toilet! Theatre is a business just like everything else. The Weisslers are in it to make money!
Very sad... I love Christina and was hoping she would make it. Having not seen the performance, I have no idea why it wasn't doing so well, but I'm willing to bet it was a problem with the overall production...
Maybe they will not think of reviving it again for at least 5 more years
Exactly Michael. Phantom2, if you want to foot the bills so that the 'talent and a good time' continues, i'm sure the Weisslers will take your call. Just don't give them all $1 or $5 bills--$100's and up.
This, of course, is remeniscent of Tommy Tune's "Buskers" aka "Busker Alley", when he broke his foot, and it never came to Broadway.
Didn't he break his foot during Bye Bye Birdy with Ann Reinking, also?
So, basically, if an out of town show has a lead break it's foot, that's the bad luck that it won't be opening on B'way...
Damn..I was looking forward to this
You become a screen actor if you care about the money. You become a stage actor if you love what you do and want to have fun. I hear you guys, my point is that it's just sad. Where's Rosie when you need her?
I do hope Christina returns to the role at some point. Perhaps they'll do the show at REPRISE in Los Angeles and she'll get a chance to prove herself.
I admire her spunk and embracing of the Broadway community. Hopefully this experience won't completely turn her away from the possibility of doing another show at some point.

oh no...im seeing it tomorrow night in boston. i hope this doesnt put a damper on the performance (although i would be upset if i were part of the cast).
They lost their shirt on Seussical & I guess they figured let's cut our losses now before we lose more.
From a business point of view, it makes sense. Ill conceived as this is one show that is revived much to much
Truth be told -- Christina Applegate probably could afford to front the entire production herself. Guess she listened to "Papa Bull's advice..."

I disagree. To say the least.
Fiddler is a show that is revived too much. The King & I is a show that is revived too much. Charity had one Broadway revival, and that was almost 20 years ago.
Glad I saw it, if only for Christina's adorable performance and the hilarity that was Denis O'Hare...as well as actually seeing Ernie Sabella in something, even if he was horribly wasted in a stupid role.
