I was reading an article on People's web site about Xtina getting divorced and it included this paragraph...
Applegate, 34, whose credits include Married ... With Children and last year's Anchorman, is currently on Broadway in a revival of Sweet Charity, which will run until the end of this month.
Does this mean Sweet Charity will run until the end of the month, or is that when Xtina is done? I still haven't seen that show, and it would suck if it closed before the new year because Christmas in between jobs is hard enough on me already, haha.

Posted: 12/6/05 at 7:39pmI would not put too much stock in it. The site usually will know as soon as such information about closings is out. Besides, there are too many rumors going around about the fate of the show and on a replacement for Christina. Wait and see I suppose.

Posted: 12/6/05 at 7:43pmIf she's leaving in December, wouldn't you think they'd announce a replacement by the end of this week or something? I mean that person's going to need time to rehearse.

Posted: 12/6/05 at 7:45pmI still have a feeling she may renew through Feb.

Posted: 12/6/05 at 8:14pmIf they don't get a star, the show is done. Nuff said. The only way I'd get my lazy butt to see that show is if Idina stepped it. That would be so awesome (especially if she showed her butt. Man, I love Rent).

Posted: 12/6/05 at 10:58pmIdina most likely wouldn't step in. She has been quoted as saying that she'd rather create roles that replace someone, Aida being an exception to that.

then there's also that other little thing about Idina not being able to dance. before you jump down my throat, she's said herself its not her thing.
so thats out. honestly... end of the month unless she renews. another show has a put down a deposit on the theatre. its in the bag that the show will move or close. if moving was an option, it would only be able to be to a bigger venue and you'd need a bigger star to fill such a space. Britney's out - the Wieslers have no more tricks to pull out of their hats. I foresee a closing notice within the next few weeks. That or an extension till the first week of Feb at the absolute latest.

Posted: 12/7/05 at 2:14amThis doesn't have 2 do with Sweet Charity, but you guys are on and I need to know: Can I have a user pic that has the word sex in it or is that like not ok?
#11re: Sweet Charity Closing?
Posted: 12/7/05 at 2:17amOk, that was random. But yes, DancNdaMoonlite, I'm sure that would be fine, as long as it is the WORD "sex," and not a picture of it!

Christina,I believe is contracted to Dec 31. If no replacement is found I assume it will close on that date. If they find a replacement Christina is gonna stay til mid-Jan.

Posted: 12/8/05 at 12:25amIt doesn't matter if she stays or not the show still has to be out by Feb. 5th. So The Wedding Singer can start loading in. Jujamcyn gave them a date they had to be out by.
