I'm thinking of joining TDF for the summer? What shows have been on recently? and how does it work?

All I know about it is that it's $25 a year and you get shows for b $30-$50 each. Wouldn't lotto or rush be a better deal?
Thanks

Can someone please explain it to me?
Also would Title of show's opening night be on TDF or should I just get full price from telecharge?

1. You've got to give people time to respond...3 minutes is not enough time to bump your own thread.

2. Yes...if you can prove you qualify you've got the right info.

3. The difference is: you can purchase tix ahead of time and you are not limited to 2 tix.

4. You won't know where your seats are until you pick them up at the theater.

5. What's available changes daily.

TDF if great if you want guaranteed seats. If you don't really care what you see and live in/near New York, then lottery/student rush will save you money.

Title of Show has just about every performance listed on TDF right now through the end of July except for opening night...though that doesnt mean it might not pop up later.

TDF is great if you're eligible. Rush/lotto may be cheaper, but for people who can't do rush or lotto (because they're not students, can't get out of work early to enter the lotto, etc.), it's the cheapest way to get tickets. You won't know where your seats are until you go get them, and the seating location varies. I have been in the front row center before (opening night of A New Century), and in the very last seat in the back corner of the rear mezzanine (a couple of weeks ago at Rent). It's entirely luck of the draw.

Selection changes daily. Most plays, with the exception of star driven "event" plays will appear there at sometime. To give you an idea, in the past year, I saw the following shows via TDF: The Grinch, Phantom, The Seafarer, Drowsy Chaperone, Xanadu, The Farnsworth Invention, Rock 'n Roll, Next to Normal, Sunday..., Passing Strange, Legally Blonde, November, August: Osage County, The Homecoming, Spamalot, Is He Dead?, Gypsy, Juno, The New Century, Thurgood, Remt, A Chorus Line, The 39 Steps, A Catered Affair, and Title of Show (next week).

How much were the tickets for the musicals and plays?

If on Broadway, plays are $31.50 and musicals are $35.50 (*plus a tdf fee which I think is $3.00)

The annual membership fee is $27.50, I believe.
