I know many people on here have spoken about how John Doyle's revival of THE COLOR PURPLE made some significant cuts that largely improved the show and made it more focused on Celie's journey. I saw the revival a couple weeks ago and was marveled by it. I wasn't familiar with the show itself except for a couple of songs. Listening to the OBCR, however, I don't notice a lot of cuts from what I saw in the revival. Can anyone who saw both productions elaborate on Doyle's process and the cuts to the script?
