Posted: 9/29/05 at 9:59pmI can't wait, I already have my tickets for the show, yah for middle/front orchestra. They offer Hot Tix for $20, a pretty good price for a student like me. I am excited, I love broadway previews.

The HotTix are officially on sale as of 10:00 am this morning.
You have to either call the box office or go in person to purchase - no online hot tix.
I was able to get tickets for the First Preview and Closing Night.
First Preview was Orch Row T.
Closing Night was Mezzanie Box, but I believe front row.
The seats are off to the side, but it doesn't matter too much at the Ahmanson because the stage there is quite wide.
I recommend anyone who is on the fence about going to look into the HotTix option as I was able to get two sets of tickets for less than what one Orchestra seat would cost.
The box office number is: 213-628-2772.
On another note...why is this show closing at 8:00 pm on Christmas Eve which is also a Saturday night. Doesn't that seem odd?

No problem, Popular. I hope you enjoy it.
I have a major crush on Sutton, so I am really looking forward to it.
I can take a picture of the Times ad when I get home if no one has done it by then.

I just got my HotTix for Orchestra Row L! Woo-hoo!
So, as I understand it, with this new HotTix promotion, they've completely done away with Pay-What-You-Can and Rush tickets? I'm gonna miss being able to see a show for $1 and $12, respectively.
But hey, $20 for an orchestra seat ain't too shabby either!

Posted: 10/1/05 at 9:12pmI'm hoping to see this when I'm in LA in November... It's a shame that discount tickets aren't available online for people like me who don't live in LA. In any case, I'm looking forward to seeing this.

You could still call the box office and order them in advance I believe.
I am still planning on adding the picture from yesterday's LA Times...I've been swamped.

Posted: 10/1/05 at 10:49pmSo if the whole cast is made up of B'way vets, does that make the Drowsy Chaperone "The Surreal Life Comes To Broadway"?

It took me a while and it isn't the best quality picture since it's from a newspaper, but I did what I could.

Thank you, Patronus for posting the photo from the paper and for clarifying the Hot Tix sales for me. I called just now and got my tickets for the 12th!

No problem!
By the way, one additional thing about the Hot Tix that may be useful for some people to know.
They are one per address. So, if you want to go multiple days, have an alternate shipping address ready.

Posted: 10/2/05 at 5:20pmWell her name is teeny tiny on the bottom, but I would have thought she would have been a main focus of the marketing, or at least we'd see a big "Tony Winner Sutton Foster".

Posted: 10/2/05 at 8:04pmThe cast are playing fictional famous actors playing parts in a 20's musical, so on the poster where it says "Jane Roberts as the bride", that is Sutton. Fun idea. The cast is listed in alphabetical order in the credits.
