Should've been Beauty and the Beast.
Nah, all joking aside, I'm happy for everyone involved in the show.

Not just highest grossing show, highest grossing piece of entertainment ever. That's hard to even fathom. Congrats to all!
Though I've already shared my opinion of the show on the board elsewhere, I am extremely happy that another show is now the highest grossing piece on entertainment of all time as it gives producers of potential Broadway shows reason to invest their money and it keeps theatre alive.
Is it really? I just assumed Cirque du Soleil had that Honor with the Aquatic show in Vegas.
Phantom for the longest time has held the title for "Highest-Grossing Piece of Entertainment." ^
Until Lion King, anyways.
I'm just glad it's an American show.

Cirque would probably never be able to earn that title for one of their shows, since they don't send out multiple companies and productions of each title. It would be hard for one show with one company sitting in the same venue to beat out a show with multiple sit down productions and touring companies that are all contributing to the collective coffers.
Oh I see. So when they Say LION KING, they mean every production of Lion King around the world? Not just the original production in New York? Okay that changes my viewpoint a bit.
wishful thinking, but maybe they will add some cheap seats in the NY production. I love the show, really I do, but I just cant fork out $90.00 for a back row ticket, where as over at Phantom I can get a $25 ticket and even Wicked I can get an excellent $50 something dollar ticket close to the front (side view but still excellent)
