Don't forget La Cage! They're planning a movie of that, too.

Yes, you're right, EVITA, that was a good one too!

They are also planning a Hairspray musical movie and a remake of Damn Yankees.

Damn Yankees would be great. The original was not that popular and very hard to find now I think. That would be great!

As much as I love both Thoroughly Modern Millie and Urinetown, I don't see that happening. I think Les Miserables would be a great movie in the right hands, and I'm sure, cosidering its arguably the world's most popular musical, it would do quite well without worries. I think they should make a move on that sooner or later.

PLEASE don't do a Damn Yankees remake. I love the original. Gwen Verdon and Bob Fosse....COME ON. You can't do better than that. Granted, there were so flaws but what movie is completely perfect?
And Thorougly Modern Millie is already a movie musical and I don't want another version of that either. JULIE ANDREWS....love her. But, that is just me.

Maybe ur right, sooner might be better. As the years pass, it being off broadway might lose its popularity...NOT MUCH im sure, but maybe a little

Just my opinion. I find it really annoying, probably because I always hear the songs butchered.

I love Guys and Dolls too! Idk though, I thought the original movie was great!

I guess you're right. Does it have anything in common with the producers? (I've never seen the show, I've only heard a few songs which are considered great which I really don't like)

Guys and Dolls is a pivitol contribution to musical theatre. Even if you don't like the show, you can't deny its influence and necessity.

Exactly right. Which is why I'm excited about a new film version that will introuduce it to an entirely new generation.
