Sit through the whole thing!!! You hear "There's nothing like a show on broadway" and Mel Brook's "The Hop-Clop Goes On" sung by Will Ferrel a spoof to The Phantom's "Learn to Be lonely". It's great!!!! Then at the very end you see the whole cast sing "Good Bye!!! This is just a FYI. Sorry if anyone else posted something like this.

Posted: 12/26/05 at 10:25pmIt's more of a spoof on "My Heart Will Go On." Get it? "The Hop-Clop Goes On?" It isn't a spoof on the Phantom end credits song.

Posted: 12/26/05 at 10:30pmI'm glad I have the CD - there were so many people who stayed in the theater and were laughing through the Hop Clop Goes On that I couldn't hear the whispering. I was actually impressed that about 1/2 the audience stayed the whole way through the credits.

Posted: 12/26/05 at 10:35pmI told all my friends that when they see the movie they need to wait until after the credits so they can see Goodbye! It's a really funny bit, and there is a suprise appearance by Mel Brooks. It is deffinetly worth it to see that! Also, I dont know about you guys, but I have a tendancy to remember the names of everybody in every cast I saw, and in The Producers movie almoust everybody who was in the show at one time is now in the movie! So look at for Brad Oscar, Jai Rodriguez, Ray Willis and countelss others, so it is fun to look at the credits and see how many of the names you recognize or saw in shows!

I loved when Will was like, "Buy Mein Kampf. At Barnes & Noble. Or Amazon.com."
I gotta say, that was the funniest part of the movie.

ahhh. I just thought that because when i saw Phantom I heard "Learn to be lonely" i was like what the hell is this and when i saw the Producers I laughed because of the fact it's a spoof of a original song that's an original song that's an new take on an old song. Maybe it's a spoof of both, but funny none the less.

I think it's more of a parody of the aforementioned "My Heart Will Go On" and overwrought end credits pop versions of Disney tunes (the latter of which was my immediate thought when I saw the film) than "Learn to Be Lonely." I have to say that that's the first time I heard that analogy made.

Well, I hadn't forgotten about "Goodbye"... I just figured it had been cut. Heh. With all the finals buzzing around me at the end of this semester, I completely missed the release date for the movie soundtrack. :- Guess then I would have known what I was sitting for. In a way, though, it made the entire thing a pleasant surprise. I LOVE "The Hop Clop Goes On" and the little cameo at the end. A nice end flourish.
