Since today is the day where a lot of people make fake Broadway themed April Fool's threads, here is a great place to post them. Especially if they're not funny, like Patti LuPone joining HOCUS POCUS and Taylor Swift joining CINDERELLA.
Where is the originality? At least put some thought and effort into it, people.
In an effort to boost sales for Bridges of Madison County, producers have announced a series of guest performers in each performance. The first one will be on May 11, when Governor Chris Christie will appear. At the first scene on the bridge, Mr. Christie will appear with his arms outstretched preventing the fated couple from actually having access to the bridge.
But don't contact his office, because no doubt he will deny any knowledge of this.

The Broadway League has announced a new, blanket rush policy for all Broadway shows. In an effort to create heightened, attention-getting events outside theaters, those under 30 who wish to rush a show must line up at one minute after midnight on show day. Anyone showing up beginning at 12:02 will not be sold tickets, no matter how many empty seats remain. All Sunday rushes will begin at 11 a.m. and will be restricted to those over 40, as everyone younger will still be trying to figure out in whose apartment they are waking up. The rush price for all shows is $45 for students, and $27 for adults with responsibilities, in a bid to better reflect true fiscal realities.

The L.Frank Baum estate obtained simulataneous rulings in the US and UK courts today negating the license which had been extended to Gregory Maguire and the producers of Wicked. Tonite's performances have been cancelled while the producers try to renegotiate a new license. However, the Estate apparently is seeking at least 20% of the gross revenue, including concessions.
Stephen Sondheim has finally found a new project. He's adapting the riotous film "Best in Show" as a Broadway musical.
The show is rumored to be titled "COLLIES."
Idina Menzel publicly apologized to John Travolta after revealing her name actually is Adele Dazeem.
Yes this thread is living up to its title. It is most definitely and unequivocally UNFUNNY.
Keep up the bad work.

Thank you Midevenings, that made me laugh out loud.
Liza's dirty headband was tragically hit by a garbage truck in the wee hours of the morning. Services are being held on a garbage scow tomorrow evening and all Broadway lights will be dimmed for a half a second each night this week in honor of this fallen legend in her own mind.
April fool!! The headband lives, and the garbage continues, indefinitely.

Carlosalberto - yes - easy to knock the attempts at humor ( oh, those horrible posters - trying to make us laugh - how dare they!). Could we have an example of your scintillating wit so we could have a worthy laugh?
Isn't the whole point of the the thread to be unfunny? I was paying everyone a compliment for being consistent.
After all it is The UNFUNNY April Fools Thread, is it not?
