Hey everyone, I'm new to this... my family and I are going into the city tomorrow (Dec. 27) and we thought *maybe* we could catch a matinee. We don't care what show - we range from age 6 to 23 for the kids. Is there any chance we'd get something from the TKTS booth in Times Square? Is there anything else we could do? We were thinking something family oriented - Mary Poppins or something to that effect. No Lion King though, we just saw that.
Thank you for any help, it's much appreciated!

OK.. understandable. But will anything family-oriented be?
Also, there are five of us..

mary poppins is a sold out show and WILL definetly not be there.
as for something "family- oriented" try beauty and the beast- it's an AMAZING show and the whole family will like it. that's your safest choice because hairspray might be too mature at times for 6 year olds and the grinch a bit too childish for the older folks.
please go see beauty and the beast you won't regret it and youll be thanking me later[ hopefully]

You will probably be able to find something on the TKTS line that your famlily can enjoy together. Here's a link to the shows that have been on the board in the past week to give you an idea of what you can expect to see tomorrow:

Thanks for the help everyone! Some of the kids have seen Beauty and the Beast already, so that's out. But maybe Hairspray? The six-year-old is rather mature. He's seen Wicked and has three siblings who are a lot older - I think he can handle Hairspray.
OK, thanks for the help everyone, this board is really great! Happy Holidays!

Save the kids and don't see Tarzan.
Plus, if you get ****ty overhanged orchestra seats, everyone will be complaining.

Ok, we're thinking Mamma Mia, Tarzan, Spamalot or The Grinch. However, I have a few questions about the Times Square TKTS booth. How does it work? What time should I get there to get the best tickets? How long is the line? Will I be able to get 5 tickets together?
Thanks again everyone!
