I was hanging by the booth for a while and what I witnessed was gross. THE number of people the grabbed handfuls of tickets when they only paid for $5 was appalling. There were even People that walked up and grabbed handfuls with even paying. It was unacceptable, they were there for charity. For those of you that took more then you paid for SHAME ON YOU.
ew. Gp- that's just GROSS
I paid 20 dollars for one chance. I was PISSED when they wouldn't let me take more. I think they had almost run out.

Are you talking about the TDF table with the raffle tickets? If you are, my dad won two Grey Gardens tickets for January which we are really exciting about!
Where was this table? I walked through the flea market several times and I didn't see it.

I took exactly the amount of tickets I paid for so yay for me. It was extremely chaotic and while I'm not aggressive I did find myself getting to the table sooner because of the people who were pushing me, which was kind of convenient but very uncomfortable.

so, wait was it? you make a donation, and get tickets?
So what did they have you do? Pay a fixed price and reach into a bowl of sorts and grab an envelope with tickets?

The table was right in front of the St. James Theatre. You could by a number of raffle tickets and if your ticket had an address inside (two were raffle tickets were stapled together so you couldn't see)you were a winner and some one would randomly choose your prize out of a box of tickets.
you would get as many little raffle tickets as you paid for and if it had the TDF stamp you would get a pair of tickets to a show.

That is LAME, LAME, LAME about the people cheating with the raffle tickets. I finally summoned the will power to skip it this year, because for the past 5 years, I'd shell out $20-30 and I've yet to win a single ticket (though, I'd rather walk away empty-handed than get excited that I'd won only to find out I'd gotten slapped with Perfect Crime tix!).
I always figured a lot of people must be cheating though. You'd have to put in hundreds of dollars (or be FREAKISHLY lucky) to win as many times as some people have. I love walking along the sidewalk behind that table and seeing people with a dozen ticket envelopes in hand. I hope they won 10 pairs to A Perfect Crime. That's what they deserve for cheating! They should all be ashamed of themselves!!!

To answer the initial poster's question, I did indeed win a pair of tickets I cannot use: Drumstruck on Tuesday 9/26 at 7 p.m. If anyone on the board wants them, let me know -- I live across from the theater and would be happy to see them go to someone who could use them.
The organization of the Pick-a-Ticket booth was a nightmare! The cop on duty near the table had to ask the crowd (repeatedly) to stop pushing toward the table. Also, people taking uncounted fistfuls of raffle tickets was surprising and disappointing.

What were the shows for which they were selling raffle tickets? Were they mostly Broadway hits (Mamma Mia, Drowsy Chaperone, Spamalot, Wicked) or mostly Off-Broadway shows? What would you guess your odds are of getting a Broadway hit?
I may be mistaken, but I think most shows have at least some tickets there (hits and less popular off-Broadway shows alike), but it sounded like there were a plethora of tickets for Phantom and A Perfect Crime this year.

I think basically every show, On and Off Broadway was there. I even saw someone with Jersey Boys tickets.
I got Chicago and Wedding Singer and was very happy.
