With all the technology out there, does anyone know why the TKTS daily offerings are not available online so one would not have to wait on line for tickets?
"Cheap discount tickets should be earned by waiting in line."
At least I assume that is their theory behind it.
I feel Todaytix is the tkts-online equivalent nowadays.
Unless theatre ticketing is retooled to have a mobile option for every show, TKTS online wouldn't be practical, since buyers would either have to print their tickets, or the box office would be overloaded with last-minute Will Call orders, neither of which would work.

With the inventory for so many shows constantly changing based on what producers send over throughout the day, withdraw, change the discounts for etc, I would imagine TKTS would have to make a major investment in additional technology to make it all available on-line which would probably mean service charges instead of $5 a ticket would probably climb to the same $11 or $12 the other ticketing agencies charge which i'm sure people wouldn't like.
